    1968 Prepping for media blasting

Jon, how will you use the car once it’s finished? As with the others, I favor pulling the engine and transmission. It’s an easy task and makes everyone’s lives easier.

1968 I’d tag and production run number

It’s visible and it matches the door tag. Being it’s such an early build I wonder if the stamping person forgot the rules changed for 1968.

1968 I’d tag and production run number

This car doesn't have a dash VIN tag but it does have a visible fender VIN. Since the dash VIN became a federal requirement in 1968 is this car correct for an August 1967 build date? In other words, was it January 1st that Ford started adding the dash tag and hiding the fender VIN?

    1968 Engine Identification

I think it is, but can’t quite tell. This isn’t my engine, I’m trying to identify it for someone online. Being a Mexican block would explain why nothing seems familiar.

    1968 Engine Identification

Any ideas what this engine is? Since it’s cast with “395”could it be an M400? Could it be a Mexican block? Does the date cast say June 29, 1970? This thing is weird!! Thanks

1968 Lucas fog light wiring connector?

My four sets of early lights all have different ends so I'm no help. It looks like people tend to cut the wires when removing the lights. Here is a photo of my car-side connector. There should be two flat washers per light to act as a solid sandwich.

1968 I’d tag and production run number

Neil and I discussed the car and decided that it can't be verified as a GT/CS. On the other hand we can't prove it isn't a GT/CS either, but due to the numerous errors and oddities I can't in good faith add it to the registry. The fact that it was actually built in August is a huge stumbling...
