    302 Block to 347 guts?

Hi all, Have any of you rebuilt your 289/302 block to a 347 (David?) From an article in a past issue of Mustang Monthly, it looks like there is (or could be) a clearance issue with the piston bore skirts at the bottom and the crank. Has any of you folks done the "grinding away" yourselves of...

New Registry Info: How many cars per state (& Country)

Paul, The Arizona number of 20 is interesting. I've seen a fair number of CS's for sale the last few years that claim they were originally Arizona cars. Maybe many of these cars are now scattered about the rest of the country/world having been bought up because of the appeal of being from a dry...

Paul, Where did you "draw the line" between northern California and southern California? -Jeff

GT/CS at Barrett Jackson Lot 9040

Hey all, Going off on a tangent here (normal protocol ;-), but... I'm looking at the picture of the BJ CS car's engine compartment. And I see there is a "loop" in the power steering high pressure hose. I've only seen this on my CS. And assumed that it was the wrong hose on mine. So, my question...

    C Scoop differences 67 to 68?

Hi all, I ran across something interesting in the NPD Mustang catalog. The rear quarter replacement panels indicate a difference in the "C" scoop contour from '67 to '68. I thought the only differences were the rear reflector indent in the early '68s. Apparently, the contour of the "C" scoop...

This one was up for sale in late November '06. Here's the link- http://www.californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?p=34733#post34733

    GT/CS for sale salinas, CA

Good catch Donna. I didn't see that initially in the search results. So.....Is $21.5K too much for a clone?

    GT/CS for sale salinas, CA

    Door window seals

Calspcl, I would suggest NPD www.npdlink.com or Mustangs Plus www.mustangsplus.com. There are many, many other suppliers. The replacement part I used from Mustangs Plus fit well. Not sure if it's concourse quality or not. But I'm happy with it. -Jeff

Mustang Plus' Continuing Battle With Ford

Paul/all, I still stand by my local Mustang parts place Mustangs Plus. They are a great bunch of guys and have been very helpful over the years. Are they (Mustangs Plus' ownership) mis-informed and (possibly) beating a dead horse? Could be. But, at the very least, I think this subject...

    Hood Question

I would make darn sure that the holes for the pins are drilled in the right location before bidding. Maybe ask the seller to measure them for you.

    Performance out of a 302

Joe, Somehow I just knew you'd suggest a blower!!! Steve, Is a true double roller chain one that has two rings of "sprockets"? And what are Power Heads? Don, I've definitely thought long and hard about making a 347 ;-) Thanks for the input guys. -Jeff

Lower front Valance and Parking Light Assembly?

Thank Paul and Mike. When I got to the body shop, the guy took the two nuts off the back and the whole thing came apart. I just couldn't visualize it being an outer and inner bucket until it came apart. -Jeff

Lower front Valance and Parking Light Assembly?

Hi all, I'm in the process of getting new front and rear (GT) valances to the paint shop. I'm bringing the old front valance to the paint shop for them to match the paint. I'm looking at the parking light "buckets" and I don't see how they come apart from the valance. Maybe I'm not seeing...

    Performance out of a 302

Hi all, Looking for a little guidance on my (possible) 302 buildup. For the folks who have done mods to their 302 small blocks- How might I get around 325-350 HP and 375 ft lbs of torque out of my .030 over 302? Would a roller cam and rockers, aluminum heads, headers, dual plane intake...

    Winter Projects

Rhonda, I think what Mike is talking about is the fierce and cold winds we've had the few days and nights. Near hurricane force (really). There were gusts of 70MPH last night over the Altamont Pass...there's a reason there are thousands of windmills planted up there.. And (for here) it really...

    Smokin'

Sorry Casey, I was thinking if the engine is not in the car and you couldn't turn it over. Here's the gizmo I'm talking about- http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94190 -Jeff

    Smokin'

Casey, NO!!!! Do not put any measurable amount of liquid in the cylinders!!! Air compresses. Liquids do not. Bad things will happen if you turn the motor over...if you were to put the spark plug back in. You want to use an air compressor with a setup of a gauge that goes up to 150 PSI or so...

    Mounting Tab on Dipstick Tube?

Hey all, I have some questions about the thing that looks like a mounting tab on the dipstick tube on the 289/302 engines. Is it supposed to just hang out there (like mine) and not connect to anything? It just doesn't look right. Does anyone know? Maybe these dipstick tubes are used on...

    Smokin'

Casey, It's either piston rings or valve seals. I agree with Arlie in getting the compression checked again. If they are all good consistent readings (150 psi or so) you might have an issue with one of the heads. Good luck, Jeff
