    Marv Tonkin and CS Friends

Thanks Shaun, Wow!!! That's very nice of you. Of course I'm interested. And I'm just glad for you that my Marti info helped you make a relatively informed CS purchase. We can talk details via PM. -Jeff

    Suspension rebuilt...now a mystery.

Hi all, I finished the front end suspension rebuild on the CS last night. I changed out the upper and lower control arms, springs, shocks, brake calipers, pads, etc. I took it for a spin tonight for the first time. No more squeaks and noises from the front end, sweet!!! Of course it...

    Hood Holes--factory assembly question.

Paul, My hood shows hole saw marks (partial circular) from the underside where it touches the upper skin. This indicates (to me) that the two pieces were assembled before holes were drilled. Maybe they were less careful on some hoods when they punched through with the hole saw? -Jeff

    SF Auto Show Pics

The dark colored stripes on the dark colored cars is odd to me, too. I almost walked right past the CS at the car show. then looked closer and realized what it was. To me, the black '07 CS is screaming for silver or gold GT/CS stripes (or white, like Kathy changed hers to).

    Another Questionable GT/CS

Hi Claude, I had noticed the "truck" black CA plate also. Those were used on commercial vehicles at the time. My buddy's '64 El Camino had plates in that same format...and I (believe it or not) remember little details like that from when I was a kid....I'm not sure why ;-) It's puzzling that...

    Favorite Wheels/Rims?

Very cool, Rich. The tirerack.com web site is the one I'd been trying to recall to. Just couldn't remember it. Speaking of Orange... There's a guy here at work who drives a CalTrans Orange '65 coupe. Man, it DEFINITELY stands out. CalTrans is our state highway workers. They drive vehicles that...

    SF Auto Show Pics

Hi All, My son and I went to San Fransisco yesterday for our annual trek to the Auto Show at Moscone Center. Lots of cool new cars. We even saw a 2007 CS. Here's a few pics. Enjoy. -Jeff

    CS "Convertibles"

Jeff/all, Question- Did dealer options (like making a convertible have CS parts) find their way back to Ford's database and thus end up on a modern Marti report? -Jeff

    Favorite Wheels/Rims?

Paul, Pretty cool looking with the Shelby 5 spokes. Looks like you put big fat slicks on the back while you were at it ;-) Thinking about how Paul did his comparison to see how the wheels would look, I remember there is a web site somewhere that you can select newer cars and you can change...

    Favorite Wheels/Rims?

Hi all, Just for fun- I wanted to get opinions on what wheels/rims you'd put on your CS (if you were so inclined...price wasn't an issue, etc.)? Don't get me wrong, I tend to be a purist and like the original look of these cars. However, I really like the looks of the Edelbrock 454s with...

    Brake line mount question

Thanks Steve for going out and measuring that. Hmmmm, 1.5" center to center on both sides. That's interesting...and not what I wanted to hear. What the heck? How did it get to be 1.25" on the driver side on my car? I guess I can only imagine. Anyway, I went ahead and made a slot out of...

    Brake line mount question

Thanks nfrntau, Forgot to mention that my CS has and came with power disc brakes. Worst case for me is to make one of the holes into a slot (since there's not enough room for a separate hole) on the new angle bracket to accommodate the 1.25" center to center tapped holes on the frame rail...

    Brake line mount question

Hi all, I ran into a strange thing while in the process of installing the new brake line assembly (from the frame rail to the caliper) on the driver side...Stopped at the moment because of this issue!! The old part has the angle bracket mounting holes at 1.25" center to center. This also...

Front Suspension- Upper control Arm Shaft question

Thanks nfrtau, I'll see what kind of clearance I have. What's also interesting is that my shock towers have nice round holes right where the pivot point is for the shafts. The holes look factory (I've seen some pics from others that looked "torched thru"). But mine look like they came that...

    Disguised High Country Special

Hey all, I know this thread of Art Sahlstein's HCS disguised as a CS is a little dated. But it's kind of intriguing. So, I was thinking...Is it possible that someone in Colorado (or anywhere within the DSO 51 area) could have ordered a CS from the factory (with the CS badging and script...

    Brake rotor removal

Arlie, The rotor assembly came right off without any effort. Thanks. The upper control arm tapered pin and the spindle casting was a different story. More than a couple of hard whacks with a good-sized hammer helped separate them. -Jeff

Front Suspension- Upper control Arm Shaft question

All, Thanks for the input. After much studying of the upper control arm, it looks as though the new hex-end type shaft will not work with existing control arm. The hex ends have a threaded outer that would have to screw into a threaded inner of the existing control arm. There are no threads on...

    Decent GT/CS

Also I noticed that it says "other" for title type. Not sure what it means. I'm guessing is doesn't mean "clear". I will give the person credit for talking up almost everything else but the crunchiness of the back of the CS.
