    GT/CS Owner History

I know I am probably asking the "Holy Grail" question here - but how do you find the owner history of your GT/CS? I have papers on the original owner, and papers on the owners from 1996 to present. But I loose the trail between 69 and 96. I cant find the original owner or 96 owner names...

    Export Brace Monte Carlo Bar

I have the monte carlo bar on my 66 convertible (with a 351W shoved in between the shock towers) and it definitely adds stability to the body. My export brace is still stock and two piece. I believe the export brace improvement for aftermarket is in making it one piece and thicker than stock -...

    Fired up my GT/CS

I cant tell they are LEDs like on new cars because the lens was design to diffuse the light. I think new cars must use clear lenses, and so the LEDs stand out more. So, they look completely stock to me except brighter. I am very happy with them. Casey

    Fired up my GT/CS

The lights from mustangproject are super. EASY to install. The led panels just go right into the bulb socket (I suggest gently using a socket wrench to twist the panels into the sockets), and the small electronic module plugs right in place of the turn signal relay can right under the dash...

    Fired up my GT/CS

Thanks for clarifying on Johns Mustang. I had always had good dealings with them until that one time. I had a real hard time explaining differences to her between master power brake cylinder caps for 66 vs 68 and got a little frustrated. Your comment will have me checking them out again...

    Fired up my GT/CS

I think I have used almost all of them! Mustangs Unlimited I have only tried once (for a front end kit for the GT/CS), but they were curtious, reasonably priced, and fast shipping. I use Larry's Mustang a lot because their prices and parts seem good, but they get orders mixed up (though they...

    Pop Open Gas Cap

Here is one for much less (at least for now). One day left on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4541570436&category=34198

    I have a Theory about GT/CS production..

Paul, I dont know if this helps your theory, but from the info I sent you on my GT/CS I always wondered why my body tag AND the build sheet (which I sent you a copy of) both showed a scheduled build date of Feb 15, and then the Marti report said it was built Feb 21. I always wondered if they...

    Fired up my GT/CS

Hook. Sounds like you've got "car fever" now. I suffer from the same disease. I have told my wife it is incurable, and the only way to treat it is with more tools, car jacks, an account with Mustangs Unlimited and a bigger garage. Sounds like you are treating your fever the same way. :)Casey

WANTED: COPY OF THE 1968 1/2 FORD MUSTANG GT/CS CALIFORNIA SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Re:WANTED: COPY OF THE 1968 1/2 FORD MUSTANG GT/CS CALIFORNIA SPECIAL RECOGNITI I have paid big $$ for Paul's books on eBay and for parts on eBay. However, if you don't have the $ or dont want to pay the $, I have found that the FREE advice and information you get on this site is priceless -...

    Speaking of Clones?

I dont think the GT/CS meets #2, or #3, since it was not built under the direction of Shelby American, but built under the direction of FORD - and since it was not sold through Shelby dealers, but sold through FORD dealers. I dont know what SAAC says about the GT/CS. Paul is the expert at...

    Boss & GT/CS

I was reading the SAAC concours classes for the SAAC national this year in California and noticed that they include Boss mustangs. Here is the quote: "Pre-registration is required for entry into the Concours Show and often an additional fee is charged. Classes, following the National...

    Speaking of Clones?

California Specials were built in the FORD factory to be sold by FORD dealers in the "original" era. So, they are pure bred mustangs from FORD using Shelby parts, and with a Shelby history (the coupe prototypes). That is what makes our cars so cool and unique to me - a little bit of Shelby...

    Speaking of Clones?

Just a few excerpts from SAAC on how they deal with this - at least the cobra's - I also like their themes: Preservation, Care (Maintenance), History, Enjoyment. Casey "We now find that as the value of Cobras and Shelbys continues to appreciate, the cars have been priced beyond the means of...

GT/CS Parts Tag - What is it?

Murf, great info. I will keep researching the position of the tag. Super thanks to everyone. I am still pouring through all the nuts, bolts, screws, wires, hoses, regulators, switches, gaskets, radio knobs, etc. that were put into the box - all original. Even an old GT pop off gas cap...

GT/CS Parts Tag - What is it?

Paul was right - You guys rock! (as my teenagers say). Now I know it is the engine tag that goes with the coil bolt. You are right, Murf, I want to hold onto to this tag! Doug, from your great picture, the E looks like the engine was maybe built in Windsor. My GT/CS was built in Feb, so the...

GT/CS Parts Tag - What is it?

I was fortunate that the last owner of my GT/CS just found a box of old parts from my car from a long ago restoration. Stuff like original windlace, pop-off gas cap, ash tray, seat belts, fog light switch, dome lights, radio bezel....a big box of just a bunch of really cool stuff in zip lock...

    GT/CS Clone Registry?

I am a fan of an authentic registry. A chapter, or section, on covertibles and clones is ok (Paul addressed this before in his previous books). Little Red and Green Hornet deserve prominence as the prototypes of the GT/CS and HCS - more info on these would be exciting. Casey

    Gasoline Backsplash

Rhonda, I have this problem with my 68 and 66. I dont have an easy answer. I put my ear near the neck of the gas opening and listen for the bubbling (no kidding) and stop the gas then. I figure its better not to have a completely full tank, than to have gas all over the back of the car and...

Anyone have a close up picture of a lower dash pad?

Moses got it...that is what my knee pad looks like too. My car is in the shop or I would take a picture and send it to you. Paul - from what I gather from your post, a 68 could have a knee pad and not pillar pads, as it was just a parts supply issue? Casey
