    EXP500 Repli-bute...

This was "ready for paint" (e,g, body work and base filler and primer done) almost 2 years ago. So hang in there, they do get done eventually!

    EXP500 Repli-bute...

Major milestone today... ... an maybe ominously on a full moon! 9 hours for the painter to do this today.... 3 coats color, 3 coats clear... pics show a hint of how it will roll from green w/gold fleck to almost black as the light hits it...

    '66 A-Code 4-speed barn find -- what's its value?

Interesting quotes on the price. If really all original, rust free and needing restoration I would have pegged a fully complete A code at $6k+ easy. Seen pretty rusty/parted out cars go for 1.5-2k depending on parts. Has to be worth way more, even if as noted a lot will need to be done to it...

    1968 dash pad

No worries, easy tip and the best way I found to fit new (or even old OEM) pads. Looks good! Is the deluxe dash new? Looks that way, is it the drake version or an OEM style with just stick on vinyl over the bases?

Depends on the fit. Put in place and see, mark and cut to suit, as the tags do vary in location.

    EXP500 Repli-bute...

Python Restorations (Stewart ?, never did get his last name in all the emails). Its a hybrid set, 68 deluxe with 69 Shelby centers. minor tweak most would not notice, but I like the 69 emblem better. It will not have IRS, hand making a one off or buying one of the off-the-shelf was a cost I...

    1968 Cast Blast paint

I believe the engine cross member should be semi-gloss black. Not sure why you would repaint the tie rods shown in cast blast black??? Or are you talking about the idler arm that mounts to the frame on the passenger side? If so cast blast to match the rest would be fine...

1968 Things that make you say hmmmmmm?

VIN is not necessarily related to build date, but the order date. Batches of cars were put thru production to keep similar cars on the line to ease production. So the VIN was never sequentially aligned to build dates. As the GTCS was a bit different many did go thru in nearly sequential...

    1968 Summer trip planning

Monterey and the aquarium on the bay are a nice stop. While Cannery Row has gone way tourist, still a beautiful place on the bay. The Asilomar coastline is a nice stretch to drive and stop and check out the coastline too.. While Big Sur is remote, in the summer the road is packed so its not...

1968 1968 interior decor door panels

Anyone know if that is an original option? No expert, but thought the saddle was more overall tan/brown, the few I have seen are more like this... And any assistance on locating the little bar to hold the pull handle screws? I guess I can mock it up, place the panles and fiddle around...

    1968 GT/CS restoration

Interesting interior on the first one. Ivy gold converted to parchment seats/doors? Or is it some other OEM combo, never seen it before... Great price on the blue one, top dollar, but the costs to restore it to that level had to be high. Very well done.
