    1968 Window molding

You need to get under the clips and free up the trim. My shop "metal guy" had a neat tool, a hacksaw blade with about a 3/32" lip turned up 90 degrees on a cut end. Hooked in under the clips quite well to allow you to pry the clip of to free the trim. This is the "official" tool...

    1968 Trunk CS stripe application

I have not started this, but in "pondering" while working the sides I will cut the backing into short sections and work from the center out after hinge-taping in place (in about 20 places to hold the curve!). Remove 6-8" sections of backing at a time, work that flat, then move outward. I...

    1968 Grille trim oddity...

Robert, thank for the tips, the hood is on, the gaps are all done. Maybe 3/16" and even on each side of the hood, stone guard tight, buckets to fenders, tight and smooth, etc. I let the shop do that as it is one area I don't do often, so leave it to someone who does. Doors were done with...

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

And a big thank you to R Powell for the black insert material. The stuff he sent me worked great....

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

Looked at the box today. From NPD, manufacturer is "Decal Magic", NPD sticker covered any more of their name/location. So much for the quality of "Ford Licensed" products! :undecided

    1968 Lucas Light Install

Found this to be a bit tricky, as the two square flat washers go on opposite side of the stone guard. I found it easiest to remove the two front lower screws on the wide grill molding, then lift it up from the stone guard, and slip the upper washer in place. Slip the lower washer and serrated...

    1968 Grille trim oddity...

Nope, actually the inserts align almost perfect to the bucket. Just going to look for some short flat head machine screws, or if I can't quickly find some that will work (not impede the outer trim install) I'll just drill two holes ... Thanks.

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

Draw a line from the top of the stripe on the front of the fender to the top of the stripe on the rear of the fender. Measure the distance between the line and the upper edge of the wheel arch. A relative reference for checking my location against others. Above (plus), even, or below...

    1968 Grille trim oddity...

Well, I'll try that again, could not get them to line up with all sorts of fiddling and got the two pretty well aligned along the edge. Another issue is if you notice the lower hole diameter it is huge in comparison to the tiny screws used on the lower trim. 1/8"+ vs 1/16" for the lowers. So...

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

Different manufacturer of the stripes? I bought the NPD set, no precut countour, which would make the install a bit easier. How does the line of your stripes sit in comparison to the opening? Above, level, below? I did scoops first so I can get them on and then the rear interior in, did not...

    1968 Grille trim oddity...

Went to put the grille trim back on and the outer/upper tabs on the wide grille trims has nowhere to mount. Thought this used a small zinc oval head with inbuilt washer screw like the two on the lower front... but no where to go. Hate drilling, and am not sure of this used a different...

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

The jigsaw puzzle continues. Figured I'd layout the stripes and get them on the side scoops so I can put them on and then get the interior done. Easy... not. The dims in the book don't quite line up. So fiddles for 2 hours aligning, taping, eyeballing, readjusting. On thing that is not...

Ok, I am sure I can, I just like some idea of what I am getting into before taking something off...hearing the dreaded... "sproingggggg"... then DINK-DINk-DInk-Dink-dink-dink.... fading into the distance...and wondering what just got launched into oblivion....

    1968 mating engine and trans

I'm happy to go for it, if I can build an engine, rewire the car, do all interior and glass I think this one should be int eh range of my abilities. That and it is at a shop that restores cars daily, so have a few resources on hand to bounce issues off! Question is Some prep would be good...

    1968 mating engine and trans

So I looked on the web, saw a few "how to install" the converter. Looks pretty easy. But nothing on the seal. Once you pull the converter does the seal just pull out and press in, or is there further disassembly/reassembly required to get to it. As the car was running fine, and there...
