What is the easiest is to just use the 69 seat back. The 68 cover work just fine on them. Marty

That must be a regional show no national shows there. There is a national show in Loveland CO. in July and one in Columbus OH. in September. Marty

1968 Finally getting my HCS on the road again! - Startup procedure

Steve is right, I am pretty sure if you prime it will start up. I usually start with 4 gallons to also check the gage. It should read 1/4. We have also jacked up the back to get the tank higher than the front to help get the gas to the pump. Marty

    . Repro Starter Solenoid Problem

I agree completely with the grounding but if just changing to a original fixes the problem it most likely was not a grounding. I have two beautiful NPD reproductions that I would be happy to send to some one who thinks that they are great. Marty

1968 Gas gauge or sending unit calibration?

Often the after market ones do not read correctly. This can be due to a rod that is improperly bent, a float leaking or the omens not correct. If it is a original sender I would first check if the float is leaking then check the resistance, it should range from 6.5 to 10 omens across the range...

    . Repro Starter Solenoid Problem

I believe that most of the reproductions are made by the same manufacturer. I have had three or four bad ones. And have gone to restoring working originals. A forty two year old one works better than a brand new one, go figure. Marty

For Sale Bonnie and Clyde S code 4 speed

IMHO they actually were a blue grey color originally. Here is a picture of a original and the ones restored for the HCS. Marty

Some times those rusted sockets can be saved by soaking them in Evaporust then after drying lubricating them. Marty

    1968 dieelectric grease

It would not hurt. I use a gun cleaning kit to clean the connectors, I think that is more important. Marty

I would buy a replacement apron and only use what you need of it to make a good repair. Marty

1968 The Sea Foam Special is out for paint

Very nice, I really like the color with the black accents. Do each part as if a judge will hold it in his hands and you will most pleased with the results. Marty

Arlie I may be interested, any idea of what the logo would look like? I would truly love to have one of these tee shirts. I bet you can guess who the model is. Marty
