1968 Drum brake distribution block rebuild

Yep, think I saw that one, but its the PB version, which i have done beofre. But this is slightly different. Marty's reply was what I was looking for, the shaft "should" be able to slide in/out, not thread. It was the slot on the end that raised the question... Thanks for the replies.

    1968 AC bracket help

Actually just jumped on EBay, found a very nice used copy for $35. Thought that was a pretty fair price so did a BIN...

    1968 AC bracket help

Link in the referenced thread no work.... from 2008. Anyone got a new source to order on the web? Redoing the GT/CS C code and would like to add this to the library as most of the past engines have been FE's...

    1968 390 Exhast manifold.

Shouldn't be. Been running coated OEM exhaust manifolds on my S code convertible for years with no problems.

1968 Drum brake distribution block rebuild

Have done the PB versions, but this is a bit different. Anyone know of a how-to on disassembly and repair (and if kits are even available) Pulled the end cap and see a "screw" (slot) end of a brass lug. It does not want to move and I am unsure if it threads or not. I don't think so but odd...

    1968 Brake question

Yep! The distribution block alone usually sells for more than that.... nice score. Believe that is a Bendix booster, which is slightly different to the Midlands used in '68, but can be used with minor tweaking.

Thanks Marty, that aligns with what I thought....

    1968 C Code Hose Clamps

Late April build.... have seen both tower and stapled used on the main rad hoses, generally Wittek towers on the heater and pump bypass.... What was factory for that timeframe?

    1968 engine air cleaner decals...

Ok, minor issue that's bugged me for years. Came up today when looking at the newly painted lid for the GT/CS and checking out the 289 sticker... None of the displacement stickers I have ever seen match the curve of the lid. They always run a bit small in radius and do not align to the curve...

    1968 Seat Belt anchor bolts

Most references I've seen use the torx head starting in '69 or '70 depending on make..

1968 4 Speed with factory ac

155 '68 C code GT/CS and HCS... about 500 in total were 4 speeds... Assuming the ratio was the same as other '68s and about 20% of hardtops got AC, one could guesstimate 40-ish 4 speed AC cars.... so one-in-a-hundred...

1968 4 Speed with factory ac

Buy a Marti statistical report for the answer. "Rare" is pretty vague, unless you are talking steaks.... 1 of 100 or 1 of 100,000?

    1968 Aluminum Grille Quality

I just compared the cutout mesh section to a crunched OEM.

    1968 my new project

Looks like an original grille, a nice score as a hard to find part, do what you can to keep it! Looks like most of the GT/CS specific stuff is included, which is nice with a project! Post progress, ask questions...
