68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

The pad bezel border is argent just like the picture in post #7. My wheel actually looks nicer than the unrestored one pictured, so I think I'm going to leave it alone.

68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

While cleaning up the lens, I noticed it had stress cracks, so I abandoned my idea of reusing the original button on the CS. I'm going to hold off for a bit and decide if I want to replace all seven buttons or leave it alone. Interesting discussion though.

68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

Ok, this got me thinking. My steering wheel is in beautiful shape. My only complaint is that the running horse button has a crack in the lens. I got my spare wheel and was able to nibble off the tips on the back of the pad with a sharp hobby knife. When I got centre button out, the lens was...

68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

Thanks Neil. I will definitely replace the buttons as the rest of the wheel is beautiful.

68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

Neil, did you replace all seven buttons? I'm assuming that you used your original bezel. If so, how did you get the old buttons out? Thanks.

68 Horn Panel Bezel & Buttons

The bezel buttons on my pad could use a little refreshing, and the running horse button in the middle is cracked. I have a spare wheel, so I took the bezel off to see how the buttons are installed. It looks to me like the only way to get them out is through the front. Has anyone taken theirs...

    . Your thoughts on 64 1/2 Mustang

Looks like a lot of work and money involved. I don't think I would do it. Besides, it's not Sunlitgold.

    Wanted AM radio volume knob

Thanks for that information Neil. It all worked out well, as now I have a complete set of correct radio knobs on the car. One of the dials behind the knobs on my car was split, but the white plastic piece was in good shape. Funny thing though, the white piece on my car looked slightly...

    Wanted AM radio volume knob

Neil, I was at a swap meet today. I picked up one radio knob, the two flat pieces that sit behind them and a white plastic piece that was on one of the radio shafts behind the knob and flat washer type knob. I'm not sure which side of the radio the white piece was on. Do you know the piece I...

    1968 Recommendations on fire extinguishers

I keep a standard fire extinguisher in each of my Mustangs. I didn't want to mount them in the car so they are both screwed to a piece of wood, about three inches thick and a little longer than the extinguisher. I keep them on the floor just behind the driver's seat. Handy to grab in a hurry...
