    Highly optioned california specials?

Does you car have the wheel opening moldings? There is very little chance that the factory did the bumper guards with out them. Ford was not in the habit of giving options away. IMHO I think a lot of buyers had seen the bumper guards on earlier models and wanted them so they asked the dealer to...

    Highly optioned california specials?

No it would not. It most likely would be on the sales receipt. But those are tough to come by. Marty

1968 Parchment vinyl roof - Exact color?

Neil Ford referred to it as Parchment. A Dearborn buck tag used the abbreviation PARCH on it for the parchment vinyl roof. It is also listed as Parchment on the Marti reports. It was a bit off white, looks better with more colors than pure white. Marty

    1968 Drive Shaft Restoration

Evaporust is super safe, you can put your hands in it. When you are done you can pour it down the drain or put it on your yard.

    1968 Drive Shaft Restoration

I would not recommend bead blasting it would require more sanding than if you just sanded the rust off. There are other products like Evaporust on the market. It will require 2 gallons. I would get all of the other parts you would like a bare metal finish on ready and do them while you have the...

Do you also have the bumper guards?

    1968 Interior Decor Group

It appears a number of things are missing from the interior décor group. Such as dash clock. locking glove box, vinyl shifter grip, seat ornaments, and as mentioned door grills, speakers and steering wheel trim. The wood grain dash pieces were available from the dealer. Could these pieces have...

    Highly optioned california specials?

Mike the information about the book is true. The date that the bumper guards went optional was 12-12-67 so no GTCS or HCS could have had them with out it showing up on the Marti report. Here is a copy of that document that supports that. It does not mean that a dealer could have installed them...

    Highly optioned california specials?

The wheel opening moldings were also included with the bumper guards so you should have them or evidence of the holes were they were. They should be listed as a option on any Marti report. Marty

    1968 Engine Bay

It is not unusual to find body color under the black, the body was painted first and then the engine bay. The worker may have just been emptying the gun. I would not even thing out if you are going for originality unless it was damage. The spot welds will show through as long as you do not...

    1968 door lights

I would get the power from the door jam switch green wire that is not live. That way they are only on when the door is open. Marty

    1968 Glove box detail...

I just got back from the MCA national show in Savannah. All 67-68s had the trim ring. As mentioned above they did fall off very easy. The locking one was part of the interior décor group option, I have one on the 67 GTA and one the 68 HCS. One other interesting fact in this area is that the...
