    Successful Maiden Voyage

Thanks but as all ways the pictures make it look better than it is. It was repainted the wrong color. I can't wait to save enough to restore it. Here is a picture of my goal. I found a replacement float at Mike's Carburetor Parts in WA. It was not brass but seems to work ok. Time will tell.

. New addition in the stall

My second Mustang was a 73 Grandee that was the same color and interior. I think it was one of the most comfortable and great driving Mustangs that I have owned. And there have been a few. Congrats. Marty I found a old picture not in the best shape it 1977.

    Successful Maiden Voyage

To day I made a successful maiden voyage to my clubs fall show in our GT350. I have been frustrated that the car has been ready to test all summer and I could not resolve the carb issues. Thanks to the site carburetor genius Rob Campbell they are now resolved. I had sent it to New York twice and...

    1968 New family project

You are probably right. I was never confused, as Jon said a 51 DSO is a HCS. Simple as that. Cool Ron our cars were built on the same day. Dad has a 68 S code coupe that was sold from the same dealership as this last HCS.

1968 Is there a way to know the stripe color?

Dad like the white but we will make them black if we evidence there of black stripes. Marty

    1968 New family project

Both GTCS and HCS Marti reports normal say California Special Package or option. This is the first that I have seen say High Country Special. It makes no sense to me because there is and never was a HCS option. I would like to ask Kevin Marti about it. Here is my other HCS Marti.

1968 Is there a way to know the stripe color?

Thanks for the help. In Paul Newitt's book it lists the possible colors of Stripes with the exterior colors. With Q code Brittany blue it list white and black stripes. I may have to contact Kevin Marti to see is the color choice is on the order or build sheet. Marty

1968 Is there a way to know the stripe color?

Yes, my point was the color was called out on that Accent stripe but not on the GTCS option.

    1968 Seeing Red!...

Wow TJ must be doing very well in his detailing business! Cool car but I would have no problem choosing your GTCS S code. Marty

    1968 back up light gasket

If it all was easy everyone would have a show car. A old saying I like is "It only takes a little effort to be above average"

Will do Mike. This car is in Paul's book but is not in the online registry.

1968 Is there a way to know the stripe color?

Thanks Mike, I have checked for tape wrap around in most of the places. One scoop is missing and the grill is out of the other and it was painted. Hopefully when we do the stripping we will find traces of the original stripe some where. The repaint did a good job of removing most of the old...

1968 Is there a way to know the stripe color?

Is there a way to find out what the original stripe color was? Our HCS is Brittney Blue so it could have had either a black or white stripe. I has been repainted and has a white stripe. The interior color is Black so I thought it may have had a black stripe. Would it be found on the build...

    1968 Dash Plaques

Ford made some owner dash plaques back in the 60s. No VIN, said something like "Made by the Ford Motor Co. for John Doe". Rarely seen today. Marty

    1968 back up light gasket

+1 I have bought NOS ones that are black. I believe that the 69-70 back up lights used the same light body and a black gasket. So 67-68s were serviced with the latter black gasket. Ford only cared that it sealed not that it was correct. A word of caution many of the NOS service parts work well...

1968 There and back again... Road trip!

I love to see unrestored cars at the shows. There is so much to be learned from them. Is that the X code?
