    1968 Purchase

Rob you are not far off there. In a complete trailered concours restoration 1000 hours is not far off especially if you count the research and parts accusation hours. Any one would be lucky to have one of Neil's cars that he has donated his time to!

1968 Help! Pictures of 68 GT/CS tail light wiring needed!

We have used the tail light harness and it is very good. As Steve said you could solder on a new connector if you can find one. I do not think there are any 6 pin connectors like that used in a 67-68 Mustang, but may be in a Cougar. You might check with West coast Classic Cougar. Marty

1968 Help! Pictures of 68 GT/CS tail light wiring needed!

That six pin connector should plug directly in to the GTCS tail light harness. If I get a chance I get a picture of the wiring in one of our cars. Marty

    1968 Purchase

I agree with Neil, hire a person or shop to inspect the car. I guarantee it will be worth the cost. I have heard too many sad stories of purchasing a car only to find many dollars worth of repairs. Be patent and you will find a quality car. Lime gold was the most popular color in 68 so the odd...

Sorry to hear that. I see that you still have some pretty neat cars listed in your signature. I have a really nice 68 HCS listed in these classified if you want to get back in the game. Marty

1968 Introduction and Tail light panel woes :(

Welcome to the site! It looks by your Marti report your car is nicely equipped. Presidential Blue is a rare color only 2.7 % of the GTCS's were painted that color. Good luck with the restoration and keep us posted on your progress. Marty

Yes I hope to start the restoration on the 68 GT350 this year. I would like to have it completed for the 2018 season when it will be 50 years old. I am sad to sell our HCS but could use the funds for the Shelby project if I wish to get it done by 2018. My dad has a 68 GTCS and a 1968 J code GT...

    1968 theft attempt/vandalism/disabled car

I am with Rob, the ignition area should be able to be sectioned in by a body shop. It is not that difficult to match a existing key to the new lock cylinder. IMHO changing the door locks would be a lot more work. Marty

    1968 theft attempt/vandalism/disabled car

The differences are settle the big one is about 1/4 inch in length of the ash tray. I have wondered why Ford made theses changes. I think the key hole area would be the same.

    1968 theft attempt/vandalism/disabled car

I am sorry to hear of your trouble. I would send your harness to Midlife Harness Repair. http://midlifeharness.com. Randy will do a good job repairing it and check every connection on the harness. I would repaint the entire dash after the metal repairs are done. I know this all stinks but your...

    1968 Ballast Resistor

It sound like you need to start with a different main harness to get the car back in working order. Randy can repair or replace your harness. http://midlife66.com/harnesses or http://midlifeharness.com I have used him several times and would recommend his work. Marty
