1968 Exhaust system bending my brain...

I bet since it is a C code and did not originally have duel exhaust the hanger studs in the rear floor pans are not drilled in the correct location. Marty

1968 Exhaust system bending my brain...

Been there done that. Four trips to the muffler shop in one day is why I decided to spend the $$$ and buy the Scott Fuller exhaust for the HCS. Put the whole system on in 35 minuets. It has the original tabs and slots so every things lines up perfectly. Marty

    1968 Great day at Renee's....

It looks like a perfect day to drive Renee's beautiful pony's. Nice pics as usual Tim. I took the old GT 350 out for a 120 mile cruse yesterday. It is just amazing how much better you feel afterward. The only downer is how much she likes the gas.

    1968 Solenoid question

+1 on the above comments. I would check for ground and if its I would buy a auto parts store solenoid if it is not a concours car. There is really no way to service solenoids. Marty

I would not use POR15. I assume that you want to use a rattle can. Eastwood chassis black or Rustoleum Semi gloss black would work best. Marty

    1968 Hood lock cut out

Well guys I am sorry for not trusting the collective knowledge on this sight. I do not know how I missed the hole saw mark on my own original hood pictured in my first post on this thread. Thankfully we detailed dad's car per your instructions. This is not the first inaccuracy I have discovered...

    1968 New family project

I brought it home Monday and dad is thrilled. We can't wait to start assembly. I have been unsure about the stripe color since it was repainted. I thought since it had a black interior it may have had a black stripes. I was looking at the old deck lid and discovered where the strip wrapped...

    1968 GT/CS Square 8 or Marchal?

Hi Pat You car could have had either light originally but is hard to tell since the Marshal brackets were left in place when the Lucas lights were installed. I also have seen a number of cars using the Shelby pedestal. LOL that they have both on your one. As a MCA judge I would only except the...

    1968 Hood lock cut out

OK I think I am with you because our 7-16-68 HCS has very even holes as you are showing on yours. I have used a nibbler and it would be very difficult to cut a round hole that evenly. Now do you believe that the hole was cut before the two hood shins assembled or after? To me it made no sense...

    1968 Hood lock cut out

I may have discovered the answer to my question. I was reading the latest GTCS recognition guide about the hood pins (page 104) and it says that the holes were cut with a nibbler(not a hole saw) before the top and bottom of the hood were bonded. So there should be paint in the recess. It also...

1968 Is this a factory sticker?

The NOS part shown looks correct but it likely has yellowed too just not on a car. I think originally they were a milky white. The NOS one would be fitting for your unrestored car. West Coast Classic Cougar is a great place to do business. I got a heads up email from them to day that they are...

1968 Is this a factory sticker?

Sheryl you are very fortunate to have found such a original car. I would encourage you to use as many original Ford pieces as possible. Many take the easy way out of just ordering a new reproduction. These parts will work but may not have the same appearance and fit as the Ford parts. Take a lot...
