    1968 Engine Identification

This is for the green car. The former owner installed the rear end so I don’t know it’s original application. The car came with 3.00 open gears. The 3.23 gears are crying out for a 5-speed in place of the toploader, especially if I road trip the car. C153800

    1968 Engine Identification

Here’s another identification question. This is supposed to be a Ford 9” rear. It’s limited slip and as you can see it has 3.23 written on it. Does this look like a typical 9”? Is there a date code on it? Thanks

I think this one looks better than it is. It sort of looks like a back yard or a dealer refresh. No hood pins No seat belts No radio Twist gas cap No washers No hood wiring Black underside paint bomb A magnet may come in handy when inspecting this one.

Wow, I’m surprised it ran at all!! Was there any damage? I always spin the push rods until they stop, then another 1/2 turn. Some say 1/2 and others say 3/4.

Non-adjustable rockers do seem a bit odd. I’m with you in that I like knowing they are all properly adjusted.
