    1968 Possible Red Debut Car?

The stripe shown on the report are the pinstripes along the tops of the fenders. As far as we've been able to figure out the GT/CS stripe color matches the interior. It's possible to have a car with white pinstripes, a white vinyl top, and black GT/CS stripes, if it has a black interior...

    1968 GT/CS Undercarriage

Yes, it should definitely be red oxide primer with areas of body color overspray. I’ll look later for some good examples.

    1968 Motor Rebuild

After reading Steve's post I guess I do have an opinion on the resale value. As usual, I agree with Steve......but for a different reason. If I'm looking to purchase a GT/CS and I find out it's been stroked to a 347 I tend to walk away because I don't know how what else has been done to the...

    1968 Motor Rebuild

I don't know about the resale potential but if you want to make sure it's the original engine you can look for the VIN on the rear of the engine, just behind the intake manifold. I'm sure Rob will comment on the engine build!!

    1968 Possible Red Debut Car?

Ralph ran across this car (Marti Report) in Oregon. It's the earliest red car with black hood stripes we've found and it is loaded. I wonder if it's the stage car in the attached photo. This also makes the 25th early car that Marti doesn't acknowledge as a GT/CS.

    For Sale 1968 GT/CS J -code in WA $$$

The car is now consigned to Gateway Classics. $71,000 That seems rather high for a car with what I consider errors. Minor errors that can be fixed but errors just the same. https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/LVS/213/1968-Ford-Mustang-California-Special I like the front seats!

ADMIN 2020 CaliforniaSpecial Calendars are now on sale!

Sort of; my motive wasn't entirely altruistic. My ego certainly enjoyed knowing that the person would show the calendar to all his or her friends and relatives, and brag that he saw one of the cars.

ADMIN 2020 CaliforniaSpecial Calendars are now on sale!

When I took road trips in my car I’d also take ten or so calendars with me and give them to people, normally at gas stations, who were fascinated with the car. It got a little expensive but I enjoyed making their days so I didn’t mind the cost. Any extras I had after the trips went to people...

For Sale Red S-Code 4-speed in Arizona

That car, and owner, gave me a bad feeling from the start. There are definitely some good points to it but it also has the potential to be a major money pit. Did the seller ever say whether the engine is seized? There must be a reason why he hasn’t tried to start the car. Arlie (Bjabby)

For Sale Highland Green 4-speed For Sale

The owner of this car wants it out of his shop so he'll sell it for $25,000. My car-buying mission is on hold so I'm going to have to pass on it.

1968 Drive and enjoy or Sell for something new?

I’ve driven all of mine, except one which I sold because it was too nice to drive. For me driving a car like that was far too stressful.

    1968 Pedestal fog light removal

The stud is probably spinning inside the housing. Try pushing up on the light by placing a plastic or wood wedge between the light and the pedestal. It may help to hit them with some penetrating fluid and let them sit overnight before you proceed.

For Sale 1968 GT/CS Highland Green

This was Rhonda’s car. If you look closely you’ll see there is no headliner. Pretty steep price for an incomplete car.

For Sale Highland Green 4-speed For Sale

The owner of this car and I are still talking, and have more or less agreed on a price, but I'll need to sell one or both of my cars before I buy it. The greatest challenge/problem with the car is its lack of power. I can do the basic tasks like carb, timing, and electronic ignition but I'm...

‘69 covers are available but it’s my understanding that they won’t fit on ‘68 headrests.
