    Tall storys

This was a fun thread. I figuared that when I mentioned beer I would get some tall tails. Tim I never doubted your car could turn the speedometer over twice but I think it was Renee driving! Arlie, Steve, Scott and Rob I konw you guys are right. I used to have a Cessna that added a 30 HP bigger...

1968 Correct AM Radio for 68

It must have the black buttons to be considered correct. I see the C8 radios on Ebay sell for very little. Marty MCA 38812 judge

    1968 Problem Solved!!

I looked in to that system when we were putting Craig's car together. It looks like a real nice answer to the old Bendix system. We opted to wait due to the cost and not being able to drive it first. I think Mustangs Plus was going to handle it. If someone here does it I would really like to...

    Tall storys

I went to my 35th class reunion last night. I was talking to a couple of guys that had 71 Tornios, one had a super cobra jet. He said that his speedometer was a 120 mph and he could bury it he figured was going almost 200mph. Funny how those storys get better over the years especialy with a few...

1968 Has anyone ever hidden their antenna in the trunk?

My best freind has a 65 shelby clone that he mounted the antenna to the under side of the RH fender. It works great and he did not need to relocate the wire. Marty

    1968 Problem NOT Solved

Rob I talked with my front end guy to day. He is reasonably sure you have something binding some where. He suggested taking the tie rods off and moving things through their motions so you can pin point the problem. I agree with all above on poly strut bushings. Marty

    1968 Problem NOT Solved

That has been my blind spot many times in the past when trying to find a problem. It can't be that I replaced it with a new part. As previously mentioned you really can not allways depend on auto parts store replacements. Check everything! Marty

    1968 Problem NOT Solved

I just thought of this, take the drag link loose and see if the idler arm moves freely in both directions.

    1965 Fastback build dates

That is the earlyist one I have ever heard of. I think you are right on on the dates but I see if I can find out any more. Marty

    1968 Problem NOT Solved

I am not a great front end guy but it sounds like a worn ball joint or such. Do not really think the spring perches would cause that. Could you have some one else turn the wheel and watch under the car. Preferably in the shop not driving! I have a freind who is great with old car alignments. I...

1968 How can I install larger drum brakes?

I think you can go wider bigger in the same drums. I would pull offa drum a look where the outter wear mark is. When Ford installed power disc brakes they used a narrower rear shoe. Marty

1968 2 Cal Specials at Mecum Auction this week

Actualy the S code 390 is the real reason for the end of the K code 289. In 67 when Ford introduced the S code it out sold the K code more than 2-1 because most were look in for all the Hp they could get and the S code was rated at 325 Hp to the K codes 271. The real killer was that the S code...

    Cobra Project Update

Very sad to say we did not make it there. I had looked forward for weeks to seeing you and your black pearl. Also was dissapointed for my son Craig who could hardly wait for the first show for his 67 GTA coupe. The one that I posted the over heating thread on. Saturday we primped polished and...

1968 Your thoughts on 2v-4v 289 conversion and whatnot...

Sorry no harm intended I was hoping to provoke a comment out of Rob. I think he is working on a dozy watch out!! But seriously everyone needs to build our restore there car for them self. Do what ever you do with all the passion in your soul. Marty

1968 Your thoughts on 2v-4v 289 conversion and whatnot...

Neil Marty would know the differance! but it is what Oscar thinks that matters. Oscar if you would choose to stay with the Ford 4v intake I would not use the autolite 4300. The 4100 was a much better carb. I have had one on my car for 8 years and have not had to touch it. I am not a big fan of...
