    GT/CS Google News Archives

I shot off a message to Paul earlier - wasn't sure if he's been to the site recently. After opening up the years to go beyond 1968 there were a lot for sale it seems in classifieds or dealer ads. Pretty cool huh? Luckily it seems a number of California papers are already in their archives...

    CS News Article from 2000

Not sure if this is someone from the site - pics and article attached. This article appeared in an Oak Ridge newspaper in 2000.

    GT/CS Google News Archives

This looks like a fairly new search feature on Google. You can search news archives (no more microfiche in the library huh?) I did a search on gt/cs for 1968 and came up with these pages. Some articles and advertisements. I'm thinking of doing the 7 day trial to get some articles and ads...

Royal Maroon GT/CS on ebay in Victorville, CA

Wonder if this is being sold on consignment, reseller or dealer... Also selling a Challenger currently. Based on Q&A thought the CS was a Power Steering car but when he looked under the engine realized it wasn't. R

    Shoulder Belt Retainer Clips

Hi Casey, It is a chrome piece that screws into the headliner with 1 or 2 screws (similar to the sunvisor bracket) and coming out of the that is the wire loop that the belt wraps around. These should be the same for all 68's I think. I cropped the above pic to show just the chrome piece I'm...

    Shoulder Belt Retainer Clips

I thought I saw a post on this once before that said these are no longer available. I've searched and searched forums here and elsewhere and parts catalogs but come up with nothing. I'm trying to locate the wire clips that are used to hold up the shoulder belts. I vaguely recall reading...

1968 CS and 2007 Shelby GT500 at Sunrise Ford in CA

Very cool! Thanks for the pictures! My nephew just bought a Grabber Orange GT from a Sunrise Ford in NY so your post caught my eye when I saw the name of a local dealer  R

I don't know ... it has the horse on the grill ... and that's means it's not a real CS

    Mustang Fragrances

I'm flipping through the Sears flyer looking for a lawn sweeper for my tractor and I turn the page and see this! MUSTANG FRAGRANCES His engine will rev for the bold scent of Mustang. He can choose to layer this After Shave with the cologne or wear it as a subtle everyday scent. The...

    Route66 Redux

It is pretty cool. If you do directions on it, it attempts to "drive" them as a fly over that you can watch. It needs a little work but it's got a cool factor to it in any case. Metropolitan area pics are very detailed and it works all over the world. There was an article once that you can...

    Rag Top Info

I've never done anything special to my 96 convertible top. It's also "cloth". Same soap and water I wash the car with - nothing harsh. It looks great after 11 years. Never used a special cleaner or anything. That's in the Northeast (NY) and covered or garaged in Winter. I don't know if...

    Vacuum connections without Smog

Hi Scott, That's what I always thought was the case, but recently I read somewhere that all 68 cars had emissions on them. Now I need to figured out where I read that. But Dual is correct still without the smog? I'm so confused now   I thought a Thermactor and IMCO were both...

    Route66 Redux

Have you tried downloading Google Earth software? It gives you some pretty neat options like "fly over" views and the ability to tilt and pan. Plus 3D, building outlines, etc. I can create the view of the mountains I have from my front porch ... pretty wild.

    Vacuum connections without Smog

Thanks for the info. So you're recommending switching to a single advance? My 289 does not have smog but had a dual advance before the previous owner switched to an HEI distributor. My 302 has the smog and also has the dual advance. The 289 is the one I'm planning on going back to the...

    GT options

Keep in mind the GT option was not specific to the California Special. It was the same for all Mustangs with some minor exceptions. The Pop Off Gas Cap for example on a California Special and High Country Special was deleted from the GT option since the GT/CS and HCS had the Mustang (emblem)...
