According to that diagram the hose we're discussing doesn't route up to the carb. It seems to lay on the intake, against the valve cover.

That is a 1968/69 302 but I think there is one too many digits stamped on the top of the block. The first digit should be an 8 or a 9, and the second digit should be a letter. Is it possible to post a photo of that number?

I think it's supposed to bend up and attach to the carb, but I won't swear to that until I find some photos.

The scripts also don't properly align. Probably had the quarter panel replaced at some point. Check out the paint bomb under the hood, especially the washer hoses and hood hinges.
