1968 Trans and Rear VIN Location

Here is the transmission. http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7282 The rear end has a metal tag attached to one of the pumpkin bolts but I don't think it has any portion of the VIN on it.

Brandon, What does your mechanic hope to see by removing the valve covers?

    1968 Transmission Kickdown Install*Need Diagram/Photos Help

Go to Google and enter something like, "1968 Mustang Kickdown Cable" then click on <images>. That should give you a bunch of photos of what you're looking for. If the above description doesn't return the photos you need try tweaking it a little...

1968 Cali Special Poss Engine Replacement - Questions?

Brandon, The man knows of which he speaks. Small block Fords are severely choked by their heads so your best bang for the buck would be aftermarket heads. Porting the existing heads will help considerably but all the porting in the world won't match new aluminum heads. Headers would also...

    . Photo Your Winter Fun

Yeah, sandpaper and water-softened skin makes for a bad combination. I forgot to tape my fingers and sanded off my finger friction ridges again!

    . Photo Your Winter Fun

Rob and I have completely different ideas of fun. This is fun! Hmmmmm, here's an idea; you can do the mechanical stuff, Steve can work on the wiring, Neil can work his magic on the interiors, and I can prime, sand, and paint. Now all we need is a body and fender person, and a shop!

1968 Tappets, Rollercams & Zinc Additives

My engine guy is rebuilding another engine for me and when I asked him about what oil to use he told me in no uncertain terms to run Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil and nothing else because he knows from personal experience that new oils can wipe out a cam in the first 20 minutes of running the engine...

1968 Cali Special Poss Engine Replacement - Questions?

I'd transplant a 3.7L Infiniti engine, and while I was at it I'd install some Corvette flush door handles on the tops of the doors. Does Dynacorn produce coupes?

1968 Cali Special Poss Engine Replacement - Questions?

If the engine isn't numbers-matching does it being period correct really do any good? Brandon, for the amount of money you're spending have you considered installing a Ford Racing crate motor? http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=11752

    1968 Ongoing Discoveries

Neil, How far off are the brackets from lining up? When I installed their compresssor bracket I had to elongate the holes a little. If I remember correctly any two holes would line up but the third one was about 1/8" off. I have more Lucas lights that I know what to do with so shoot me a PM...

    Wanted Distributor

Neil, I have two distributors, one is a single diaphram and the other is a double, but they both show "Motorcraft" C9AZ-12131-A part numbers. If you want one of them let me know and I'll pack it up and send it to you.
