    1968 Aussie J code Project

My mistake, I thought you were looking for a transmission VIN that started with 7L, which you won't find. Didn't realize you were looking for a 7L date code.

    1968 Aussie J code Project

Please verify this but I think the first year for stamping VINs on transmissions may have been 1968 so you may not find a transmission stamped with a 7L.

    1968 Power Steering Control Valve

That looks like a good solution for my car. I removed the PS years ago which is great for driving on the highway but a little rough in parking lots. Rob, where did you purchase yours? I see Summit and Jegs sell them for $850 and CJ Pony Parts has them for $800. Did you install your box...

1968 Are these correct for GT/CS Lucas fog lights?

Many cars had the Lucas Square 8 lights, including Rolls Royce, Triumph, MG, Jaguar, Bentley, and a few others I can't think of right off hand. I think I see a trend here. It looks like all the British manufacturers used them.

The C4 will have the VIN stamped on it but you'll need to remove the transmission to find it, unless you have a long mirror. http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?p=67952#post67952

1968 Are these correct for GT/CS Lucas fog lights?

I doubt there are any MCA judges (or anyone else) who could prove which covers are correct. Any judge who docks points for the rectangular covers would have some serious explaining to do.

1968 Are these correct for GT/CS Lucas fog lights?

My guess is that the covers with the rectangular eyes were produced in the mid-1970s because they are on many cars of that era but it's entirely possible they may have been included with the replacement lights for the recall in '68. The urban legend has always been that the original...

    1968 1968 GT/CS saved from Crusher!

Pebble Beige is by far the rarest color. Only 19 GT/CSs and 0 HCSs. The next rarest are Tahoe Turquoise and Raven Black at 77 each, which is 4 times as many.

As far as I know smog heads were required only for manual transmission cars. Cars with automatics received normal heads. 1968 4V heads are fairly difficult to find, one reason being that the Shelby guys tend to snap them up for their GT 350s.
