David, even though I don't understand half of what's in them I've found my '68 Mustang wiring and vacuum diagrams to be a great help with such issues. If you don't have one you may want to consider picking one up. I think the diagrams may even be on-line.

I'm sure for most of you this is a, 'Been there done that' image.
