    1968 too many questions

What is your question about the VIN on the passenger side of the dash? Are you asking whether or not it should be there?

    Blue 68 GT/CS in Dallas

But there is no reverse lockout so don't row the gears at a stop light. If you're used to a 4-speed you may start out in reverse. Of course, I have no idea how anyone could really do that and I have absolutely no personal experience to back it up.:embarass:

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

If you want to spin the rears in a big way I've found that nearly unused 20-year old Goodyear Eagles have no desire to hook up when pulling onto a busy highway with traffic barreling down. They just spin and spin!!!! I think it's time for new tires.

Looking to buy another 68 GT/CS

Here is a photo of a partial VIN stamped on an engine block, behind the intake manifold and in front of the bellhousing. You should be able to see it if you remove the air cleaner, lean WAY over the fender, and clean the area of grease. Oh, and you'll need a light source. This VIN won't...

    Its back on EBAY!!!

If it runs well and isn't rusty (take a magnet) it seems to be worth what he's asking. The condition of the turn signal lever, the underside of the rear shelf, and the exhaust pipe, make me think rust may be an issue. The car looks to me like it's had a dealer cosmetic refresh and such a...

1968 Chrome Wheel Well Moldings - Add or Not?

Ditto on the good screws. The cheap ones will strip either the threads or the heads, and they rust.

What do you guys think of this one?

Very nice. It'll be interesting to see what it sells for. The hole in the passenger scoop certainly won't help the price.

    2005 Registry Update Thread

Here's the latest from SAAC "I appreciate Ron's help and enthusiasm, and these numbers look interesting. Anyone with a late model CS should see his site and register. The source I have is from Ford, and I think that the foreign orders can tweak the actual numbers. I forwarded your numbers for...

    Gold Nugget Special on eBay

No, I'm not bidding on it, (I'd need to sell one first) but if someone from this site was bidding I was going to hold off responding to the owner. It's all moot now that he posted the data plate numbers. Looks like I gave him too much information!
