    Shelby Fog Lights

Here is a closeup, and the website for the gold one. http://www.motorcities.com/photo/view/05EIL385903501H.jpeg/0/

    Shelby Fog Lights

Looks like Doug backs up his Guru title again. Here is another '68 Shelby with Marchals on posts. Are they the same posts used on the GT/CSs? They look shorter.

    is it worth it?

I agree Don. The big question for me is what condition will the car be in once the rear damage is fixed. Is the rest of the car so pristine that it will be a $25,000 car or does the rest of it still need to be restored so we'd be talking about a car worth only $10,000 once it's fixed? If it...

    is it worth it?

Unless the car is rust free and the rest of it is in perfect shape I think $9,000 might be a little on the high side for a 289 2V auto without air. Does the owner have a bid from a body shop on what it will cost to fix the damage or were you thinking of fixing it yourself? The painter will...

    eBay - J code with 428

Rhonda, I think you are right about the pinstripes. What is sticking out from under the sides of the car? I thought they were exhaust pipes at first but they are too small.

    Shelby Fog Lights

For all you Shelby experts. Did Shelby's come with Marchals installed on Lucas posts?

    J Code engine ID

The VIN should be stamped on the block. I can't remember for sure but I think it is either on the top of the block at the rear or on the bottom near the starter.

    Ford Engines Website

If you want some serious horsepower and don't mind spending a ton of money for that horsepower find yourself a 427 SOHC.

    The 390cid S code Engine

The 390 is an FE motor and it is interchangable with the 428 and some 427s. Many people used to put 428 cranks in 427s. That change would increase the engine to somewhere around 454 cubic inches. The FE series is not the biggest block. The 429/460 series is larger but most people call the FE...

    Some things are just Wrong

Actually having a fine day. The fastener thing was last weekend, just before the killer seat attacked me. Crawled under the car, looked at the bolt in question and decided it was either a 3/8 or 7/16. Crawled out from under the car got the sockets, then crawled back under the...

    1966 GT40 on eBay

Here's something you don't see for sale very often. Anyone have a little extra spending money laying around? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-Ford-GT40-MK1-Shelby-American-Ferrari-Killer_W0QQitemZ4598117324QQcategoryZ6465QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

GTCS 390 S Code on Ebay

If I do the math right it sounds like it's closer to $35K. Seems kinda steep for a no-option car with peeling paint. But then, it is Highland Green!

    Some things are just Wrong

Three random thoughts that are sort of related: 1. This country started going down hill when porches were built on the backs of the houses instead of the fronts. 2. Any person working in a bodyshop who replaces the original fasteners on our Mustangs with metric units should have those...

    Barrett-Jackson GTCS

I don't think complete originality means much when it comes to GT/CS prices. If other similar sales at BJ are a guide a good looking slightly modified GT/CS will bring a higher bid than an ok looking 100% correct car.

How to Subdue a Deadly Aqua Seat Back

Both are great ideas. One problem we have that I created is that I added an inch of batting material under the foam. I'm going to try running a wire tie through and cinching everything tight that way, then attach the hog wires beside the wire ties. Hopefully a sharpened finger nail file, or...
