Our HOA would frown on such things, unless I can hook the garage into the house system, but last month's electric bill was almost $500 so I think I'll just keep sweating. The heat really isn't too bad once one gets used to it. Just need lots of water and lots of sweat rags. A Texas HOA...

Talking about the letter under the engine code. S is for 390, R is for 428. All GT/CSs have an R as the 2nd digit of the VIN so they all have one R, thus the RR for a 428 CJ GT/CS.

The "GT" in GT/CS was for marketing purposes only. It was possible to order a GT GT/CS but very few people went that route.

I'll be re-inventing the term, "sweatin' to the oldies". Working on the GT/CS in the garage in 105 degree weather. Ever notice how people who are driving down the street slow down or stop in front of your house when the garage is open and they see all those taillights? Spooky.

I've looked through every Ford manual I can find and see only 1 exhaust system with glass-packs. The '65 Shelbys apparently had glass-packs and side exhaust. Most of the other systems consist of 2 resonators and one or two mufflers. I think the resonators alone would be too loud but maybe...

Another option is to put smaller diameter tires on the front to bring the front down instead of the back up.

I used the GT springs and 1" lowering blocks on the clone I built years ago. I thought the height was perfect.

Rhonda, you are talking about small Hummers but what if we flipped that around? What if BMW were to build a monster Mini? With 4WD and huge tires. I wouldn't buy one but there is probably a market for such a thing. I've always wanted to see someone build a Mini hearse, or a PT Cruiser...

If it has a 289 I don't think it is a GT. Weren't all small block GTs 302s?
