    Generally speaking you need to buy the senders that are specific to the new gauges. As far as keeping the original gauges working I use a "T" brass fitting at the oil sender tube and mount both senders to it.     I'm not aware of any possible "adjusting". If it's not returning check for binding......and that the spring is still attached to the flapper.

    Check for binding of the flapper. You need to let it cool off sufficiently as well....it doesn't happen instantly! The fact that it opens means it's more than likely working properly since it has overcome spring pressure to open in the first place.

    68 C code GT/CS front spring paint marks

    The original coils from my S code CSGT with the GT equipment group had yellow and green markings. They are 9 1/2 coils and 16 1/4" high with a .640" cross section . The sway bar also has yellow and green markings and is 15/16ths". I can post a pic later if wanted.
