. Target date for book release?

Here's the post from SAAC. Notice: As of today, June 20th, 2009 , preorders sent to me for the GT/CS book will no longer qualify for refunds. This is due to the ongoing, and current investment commitments for the licensing, insurance and printing for the book. This notice supersedes any...

    1968 vacuum advance

All 302 Mustangs should have the thermal vacuum switch (thing on the thermostat housing). Later air cleaner snorkles did not have the servo motor (vacuum powered). When was your car built? Scott

    1968 vacuum advance

There are three ports on the thermal vacuum switch. One goes to the vacuum advance, one to the carb, and one to the back of the intake manifold. Scott

    1968 Seeking advice on price...

Tim, Here's your solution for storage. Had these installed this week and one more coming next week. Let me know what you find out about the side stripes. My first thought would be that it's been repainted, but you said it's all orig. Maybe he took them off. Scott

1968 Spare tire hold down with slotted wheels revisited again

After 40+ years it's hard to absolutely prove anything with these cars, unless you are the original owner. But over the weekend I bought a 15,000-mile 1968 Mustang with the spare tire secured with the hold-down plate instead of the jack (car has styled steel wheel spare). And it has the...

    1968 Interior Paint Question

Don't know if this help much, but here's a picture of my 68 with an original, unrestored interior. Not much help on the headliner though. http://www.scottfullerreproductions.com/albums/album_image/5235457/2510778.htm Scott

What do you guys think of this one?

Ford definitely wasn't making 1968 Mustangs in September 1968. They stopped 1968 Mustang production in July and started 1969 Mustang production in August. Maybe it's a typo. Whatever the case, it's wrong. Scott

What do you guys think of this one?

That date can't be correct. They must have messed up. The VIN puts it in the April 1968 timeframe. They stopped making 1968 production Mustangs in July (I think). Scott

1968 All new book updates posted on saac ?

From the SAAC site. Well, no, the book isn't THAT far along, but it IS coming along well. The three biggest sections that needed my attention the most are Little Red, the Green Hornet, and the 2007-09 GT/CS stories. I'm also writing the GT/CS article for the next Shelby American (on line)...

    '68 302 GT W/Factory CJ Hood Scoop

I'd like to see a better picture of the hood scoop. 1968 hood scoops are pretty rare. If it's a 1969 that would tell you that it was added later. But the bigger problem that suggests that this can't be factory is that the rear quarter side markers are the early style. I think that style went...
