    1968 Ashville

My wife and I are going to the Ashville show. We also went to the Virginia Beach show and decided that since the shows were geographically so close, we would attend both. I don't know of any GT/CS cars that will be there. Russ

    . Prepping for VA Beach

Neil, My wife and I are making our way along I-40 to Virginia Beach and hope you are able to make the show. We stopped in Nashville to see the Grand Ole Opry and will be in VA later this week. I noticed you did not get into the Ashville show (too bad), and I received an email from them stating...

    . Virginia Beach

My wife and I are signed up for the Virginia Beach and Ashville MCA shows. We will be trailering our lime gold GT/CS from Arizona and are looking forward to a great vacation. We look forward to meeting GT/CS owners on the east coast. See you in a few weeks, Russ

    1968 another brake Queston

The brake light switch surrounds the brake rod and both are installed at the same time. A special pin holds both in place. Hope this helps, Russ

    1968 Anyone Seen This B4?

I believe that is the name of the paint inspector. San Jose cars had distinctive paint inspector stampings, and I believe you have found one of those stampings on your car. Jeff Speegle is the expert on these markings and maybe he can shed some additional light on this. Hope this helps, Russ

    1968 Due Exhaust Question

Scott Fuller's stuff is the best, BUT I didn't know he had the correct exhaust system parts when I ordered the concours factory dual exhaust from NPD in California. The system I got from NPD was excellent and fit exceptionally well. I also ordered the correct hangers and clamps from NPD. The...

1968 My Lime Gold GT/CS is DONE!!

The Goodyear Polyglas are reproductions (I want to be able to drive the car), BUT they are made by Goodyear in the original molds! They are sweet tires, and this car came with wide tread tires from the factory (It originally had white walls, though). Russ

    1968 Installing GT/CS Side Stripes

It's snowing as I write this...and we got another foot last night! The news stated that Flagstaff has had the most snow of any large OR small city in the United States this season. We have had over 125 inches so far (Anchorage, AK has had 46 inches), and March is one of our snowiest months...

    1968 Installing GT/CS Side Stripes

Neil, I did not have any trouble with the thin stripe, but the gap at the leading edge of the door was a challenge. Also, I was very careful cleaning the area where the stripe would go. I used enamel reducer to clean any polish/dirt. I want to see your stripe when you are finished. Russ

    1968 Installing GT/CS Side Stripes

I just installed the side stripes on my GT/CS and thought I would share a "restoration tip". I used a laser level to insure the stripe went on perfectly straight, and the results were great. I used blue painters tape to mark where the stripe was to be placed rather than leaving the laser light...

1968 My Lime Gold GT/CS is DONE!!

Well, I've finally completed my lime gold GT/CS project vehicle, one day before its 42nd birthday!! I installed the side stripes today, and I'm very happy with the car. It took some time to get the hood and fenders to fit correctly, but with the help of a friend, everything fell into place...

    1968 GT/CS Front Fender Stripes

Neil, I'm in the process of installing my stripes too, and you need to cut the stripes to match the front fender well. I've used PN's old book, which has the correct contour for the cut. I would cut out the contour first and then intall the stripe. Good luck...I just finished my trunk stripe...

1968 Thinking about adding to the stable...

I don't think you ever need to rationalize the purchase of a Shelby Mustang. They are great cars and if that car makes you feel good...DO IT! I've come to the conclusion that life is way to short and you need to have fun along the way. I also have the "Mustang Addiction" (I think there should...

1968 How did you find your GT/CS?

My highland green GT/CS was purchased in 1995 from a high school student in Flagstaff. I had seen the car around town and always had the desire to own the car. I really wanted a Shelby GT 350, but did not believe I could afford one at the time, so the GT/CS was the next best thing. As I was...

    1968 Lime Gold GT/CS - Nearing Completion

Well, my goal was to have the car completed by the end of January, and I'm pleased to report that just the trim items and stripes need to be installed for the car to be finished. It FINALLY looks like a car!!! As I said in an earlier post, snow fell hard in Flagstaff last week (we still have 3...

    . 67 over heating problem

Marty, The one thing not mentioned by everyone is the head gasket. As you know, the head gasket on a small block Ford goes on only one way, and if it is installed incorrectly (backwards), overheating is guaranteed. If everything mentioned checks out okay, I would suggest checking the head...
