    1968 10 spoke vs argent gt's

One big plus in moving to a 15 inch wheel would be opening up a wider choice of tire styles.

1968 Gulfstream Blue S Code GT Equipment 8R01S162696

Sheryl, one more thing I notice about your setup that would support the 1967 style 390GT air cleaner setup as original. The breather cap on your driver side valve cover has no outlet for a hose and it's chrome. Based on my limited knowledge, I would say it's a correct match for your current air...

    . Triple "B's" Garage

Here is some info according to the S Code Registry website: "Please note that 1968 Mustangs with a 390 4V engine and a Canadian DSO received the 1967 air cleaner assembly with the screened openings." http://www.scoderegistry.com/history/s-code-air-cleaners

    1968 Shelby 10 Spoke Wheels

Goodyear Blue Streaks on the 10 spokes would look unreal on that car. Who cares what it costs :)

Look at the stance on those cars!

If Gem's setup is (nearly) original as it currently exists, that would save a lot of time and money. I think it's the smart move to do the research before changing anything.

    Trunk Weatherstrip

They've got Frost King weatherstripping foam tape. Size is close: 3/4" wide by 5/16" thick. So it's a little thick. I guess I could slice off the extra thickness with a utility knife.

    Trunk Weatherstrip

Does anyone have a source for the right foam tape for my trunk? I found the right weatherstripping but striking out on a correct size tape roll.

1968 My GTCS is Almost Here

Yeah, you're going to have to put an IL license on there - do they let you use vintage plates?

1968 My GTCS is Almost Here

Any way you can keep that red 1968 Florida plate on the car? It takes some special effort here to get one of those.

Marty, what jumps out at you as incorrect? I'm going to try to put my car back to a near-stock appearing engine, it would be a huge help to have a reference car that is correct. Maybe there are some photos of Mike J's engine bay floating around?

The air cleaner setup is kind of an interesting topic. Here are some photos of 8R01S156667, the Highland Green 390GT that was sold recently for big bucks by a dealer in St. Louis. I don't think this car is totally factory original, it looks more like a restoration to "better than" original...

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

The Marchals are tempting, but the car was built on 6/20/68 so that probably means it had Lucas from the factory. The lights in the photos came with the car so there's a chance they are the original set it was built with.

    1968 New Memebr

Fantastic car, just about the nicest condition one I have seen in a while. Passport was who I used as well, found the service to be very solid and timely.

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

The most recent hardcover book should get you where you need to go. Tons of good info. It's about $80. Did you buy the red GT/CS that was for sale in the Tallahassee area? That was the only red one in Florida that I saw recently. I found the fog light wiring sockets on my car, hanging down...

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

The Marchals look reallly cool but I'll at least try to put mine back to stock. Just ordered a set of the Marchal grille brackets from Delta Bay Mustang, they were $85 and they still have some. I'm one step closer. I will see if I can remove what is left of those broken tube nuts and maybe...

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

Great point, I should have checked the book. The grille section is really helpful and has a parts list AND the wiring is in there too. The other photos are great as well to demonstrate the differences and details. Thanks guys. I'm not really sure of my goals for the car yet. I know I want to...

1968 Take a look at my Lucas Fog Light situation

I think the breaker is there. It might be flipped upside down. There's the fog light switch too. Looking pretty sloppy down there!
