I know that Kevin Marti works hard to get every bit of information on his reports and I have read some others that have a 1 of 1 car. Just received my Elite Marti report and the information follows:

317,423 1968 Mustangs
249,456 were Hardtops, Of them
4118 were California Specials. Of those,
76 had 390-2v Engines, of which
76 had Automatic transmissions.
4 of these were painted Raven Black. Of them,
2 had Black standard Bucket seats. Of these,
1 was ordered with Argent Syled Steel Wheels.
8R01X153434 is that Mustang!

I thought it was kinda cool .

Nice Randy! I am a small block guy by and large, but I find the X-code cars especially neat. Not too many of them around.

Very cool Randy! A rare Raven Black, X code, GT/CS, would definitely be a keeper!

Hey JQ~
Pretty old thread, have you tried to sell your 1 of 1, the reason I ask is that I am considering selling mine and was curious of the report makes much difference?

@stangfan is correct always helps have documents to support what the car is.

Other items that are helpful is knowing the owner history and checking for original sheet metal & engine/transmission stampings and GT/CS items (Grill, Fog lights, and Tail light filler panels.)

Car shows to be sold from Dealer Jones Minto Ford Sales (72A010) we currently have 10 documented cars that sold from that dealer. Number could change as we have new cars added to the Registry.

Also, with your information above are you saying Marti Stats show that you are a 1 of 64 GT/CS painted M - Wimbledon White with a 289/Auto?

Hagerty has this in the valuation-tools on their website. From your Thumbnail picture it looks like you have a CS in pretty good condition. If you have any other question please feel free to ask.

Thank you for that info, no the numbers of cars painted in W/White " 10,148 of them were painted Wimbledon White", I have attached both the window sticker and the report. I have to say I was actually surprised. I have inspected it pretty well, there is a funky relay that was added to the fog light set up that I having corrected. Other than that no leaks, however, I was having a problem finding th 695 14-5 PR Bias Black wall tires that it was ordered with, it would be such a big deal if it was not one of the items on that list...call me crazy.

The Marti Report is critical, but I don’t think the One-of-One makes any difference. Almost every GT/CS is a one-of-one. Almost.

Are those raised white letters on both sides? Typically they are only one one side, so you can ask the tire shop to mount them blackwalls out.

Duke -

Not resurrect an old thread for a second time, but I came across this thread while searching the forums for tire options.
I purchased the JQ's X code in May '10 (a little over a year since this thread started). It's hard to believe that it's been that long already!

For me, the Marti helped to validate JQ's description of the car. I was looking for an original dbl black with the original big block. As others have said, it's nice to say that you have a "1 of 1", but it's really not that uncommon given all of the options that were available from Ford. It would be interesting to see a report from Marti on just how many "1 of 1" cars are out there.

Cheers,
Nate

Interesting, I didn't know how many X code CSGT's there were. Mine is an S code. If you add the two together along with the R codes you end up with approximately 300 BB CSGT's made.

For X-Codes there were 75 GT/CS and 1 HCS, for a total of 76.
The total of all S, X, and R codes are 291 GT/CS and 12 HCS for a total of 303.
