Street racing is what brought about drag strips in the first place. To get racers off the streets into a controlled environment. Then when the suburbs starting building near the tracks and people started bitchin' about the noise they started closing. I have to travel 2 1/2 hours to get to the closest track now. Street racing happens here but not for me since I need my license to make a living. I would only do it now for big $$$. to make it worth the risk.

Does anybody remember if Jay (Jayscal) was street racing his GT/CS when he died? I still think of him and miss him here on the site. He`s been gone more than a year now.

...I never found out about that and never asked. All I know is that he was an active, friendly & generous participant here who was killed in his GT/CS. We were not happy to learn of why he disappeared two months after the fact.

My point is; think outside the envelope beyond (just) going faster!

Racing to me is very cool! I love what David & Joe are doing and posting! I also can't get enough of David's detailed trials, setbacks and learning experiences that have culminated into his success... It's like reading about the old test pilots at Edward's in the 40's & 50's ;-) But unlike David who knows his systems (likely) better than the manufacturers - most kids only know to push the pedal down hard & try to keep her straight. Their education often comes too late...

As they say "it's only fun until someone gets hurt" When you are on the race track when something happens it’s called an accident (mistake) on the street it is called stupidity or in some cases a felony.

...Amy - Truly no offense!!! This has actually turned into a wonderful thread! Oh Boy, do I have stories, and my kids always say " but dad - you did blah, blah blah..." to which I can only say; it's a very different world now.

Age does that to you ;-(..

As you are an enthusiastic shining star here :) Please "fly" safe!
