Nope, I have not seen it. Just the pics on Ebay. I have never heard of Talmage. It's a new one on me. I know it is not in SoCal or Central Cal. Must be up north somewhere.

I have been checking all day and he has not responded to my offer. I noticed on Ebay that he now has three offers on it, so I figure I am out of the running on it.

I don't think a response will happen until your offer becomes the highest offer towards the end of the auction.

I looked on ebay and did not see where any offers were made?

Good Luck

If you look on the right hand side of the listing, there is a spot that say's "History". Next to it is 3 Offers. Yesterday it was 2 Offers. If you click on it, it shows the three people that put in offers, but not how much. I figure as the auction goes on, he will get several more offers, but they expire after 48 hrs, so if he waits till the end, he won't have any of the offers before the last two days. So waiting until the end of the listing does not make sense to me. But then, thats just me. What the heck do I know.

Cheers

Mike is right; offers expire after 48 hrs and if seller does not respond its assumed they are declined.

Thanks - I see it now. It has been a while since I have bought anything off eBay. A question that I have can the buyer see what the amount of each bid is?

If so, if I was the seller and I know those 3 bids are and I also know what Mike has offered I'd be incline to communicate with Mike if he is too low and try to get him to raise the offer. I might even begin to get more of an understanding of today's value on the car that I am selling.

Please note I said today's value not what I felt the cars is worth - we all know it's worth is only what a buyer will pay for it.

I still say good luck to you Mike I know you want one pretty bad.

Mike,

Please note that if the speakers are cut into the ridge lines of the doors then the doors are toast. Replacement doors are an expensive fix, as is filling the running horse holes and repainting the fenders.

Thanks for bringing that up. I didn't notice the speakers cut into the doors. It looks like they are cut into the ridge line. You have to wonder what they were thinking doing that instead of putting them in the kick panel like most do. I probably would have offered less if I had noticed it. Well, if I do not hear by tomorrow afternoon, then it is a moot point.

Cheers

If this is an early, February car, would'nt it have the recessed rear reflectors?

Good eyes to you. There are several things that are questionable. The rear markers ar 67' The side runing horse emblem is 67' yet the VIN is 68. Plus I have never seen a car with both the side running horse and the Mustang script before. So is it a 67 clone or a 68 that has had wrong parts put on it? Makes you wonder. I seem to remember though that the rear markers changed sometime through the production, but I may be wrong with my feeble memory. Thinking back, I think the C code car I had did have the 67 type markers and my later S code car had the resessed ones. But again that was 15 years ago, so I may be mistaken. Neither had the running horse side markers though. Well, like I was saying about Mike's car. After more than 40 years, these cars have gone through a lot of owner changes and modifications. The Marti reports are the only sure way to know.

Cheers

Mike,

Side markers didn't come out until '68. As Rhonda mentioned, the recessed ones were used until February or March (can't remember exactly), then Ford switched to the bolt-on units as a cost saving measure.

The front fenders are normal (Non-GT/CS) Mustang fenders with the script and horse emblem.

It looks like this car may have had some serious sheet metal work performed.

Mike,
The car seems like it might be just what you are looking for. But aren't you just a little scared to be negotiating on a vehicle that you haven't seen in person with only the limited pictures provided. If I lived in CA, I'd sure be there looking at it...but that's just me...I went all the way from Ohio to Florida to see mine in person before consumating the deal. And I must admit that in my case, the car WAS actually as nice as it was described. Good Luck!!

Well he countered back wanting $1300 more than I offered, so with all the things pointed out, I think I am going to pass on it.

Well I could have sworn my wifes 67 had side markers, but we had two GT/CS Mustangs and a 67 at the same time, which was 15 years ago, so I proably mixed them up. I know one had the recessed ones and the other the external ones.

Thanks for all the feedback on this car. Having not noticed the front fender issues and the speakers in the doors, I might of wound up with a big project.

Keep an eye out for another one for me. I am going to find one yet.

Mike
