if you had to choose only one car and you have an opportunity to buy a 1968 California Special and a High Country Special which one will you rather own and why?

Assuming that both cars have the same engine transmission and options....

Well if you include same colors and interior I would have to say HCS due to only 251 being made.

Certainly the HCS is rarer, but as mentioned above, the GT/CS decal on the sides and the rear script set the Cal Special off.

...I would also add that the HCS spawns a lot of great and curious conversation over the better-known GT/CS, much like the GT/CS did itself several years ago.

I don't show my HCS much, as it's too customized to do deserved justice. But everyone including the garbage man, UPS / Fed-X drivers, neighbors, Mormons, Jehovas...and other visitors always ask about the colorful badge and its significance :)

If all things were equal, hands down I would choose the hcs. Im talking 1968 hcs, not impressed with the 66 or 67s, the colors dont impress me. Ive chased a couple of hcs's but never owned one, even though I came close. People that look at gt/cs's often think shelby immediately, look at hcs's and say "What is that, Ive never seen one before" As folks become more familiar with the late model gt/cs mustangs it helps recognition of the 68 gt/cs mustang, however ford hasnt decided to make a modern hcs mustang, ie it adds to the "what the heck is that one? Looks like a cal special but it isnt."
I vote hcs.

I wonder if the HCS were made with a Script like the GT/CS that read HIGH COUNTRY SPECIAL and the HCS lettering on scoop how it would look??
