My planning is coming along and I just thought I'd update/remind everyone. June 16th-18th we have an event called "Car d'Alene" (a play on Coeur d'Alene). They have a cruise/parade on Fri. night and I have permission from the people putting it on for us to join the cruise as a group. Sat. is a show and shine and we can be together as a group for that also if everyone wants to go to it, although I'm planning a local scenic cruise that I think would be fun. I can reserve a block of rooms at the local Holiday Inn for $109.00 a night plus tax, but need to know soon, because everything in the area fills up for that weekend. I'm planning on having (dare I say it:eek: ) t-shirts made up to commemorate it. To do all this I'm going to need some fairly definate commitments of who will be coming, so I know how many rooms, shirts, etc. Of course anyone is welcome at the last minute, but the room issue may be tough at that point. I'll do some more checking on prices of other motels also, but I think they're all going to be about the same (or more).

Steve,
I wish I could make it....but Macon, GA is a long way from ID. When I lived in Seattle my family and I passed through Coeur d'Alene a couple of times and I can most definately say it is very beautiful. I really like the drive out of the eastern part of the town overlooking the lake, if I remember right there is a very HIGH bridge there too.

Good memory Doug! I'm still trying to decide which of several routes I'll use for the cruise but driving along at least part of the lake is pretty much required. Wish you could make it. If nothing else, think about catching a hop into Fairchild AFB. There are worse ways to spend a weekend.

Just an FYI. Earlier, we were all talking about a large meet in 2008 for our
40th anniversary (with mini-meets like mine leading up to it), but hadn't decided on a location. I just found out that SAAC is holding their meet (#33) in 2008 at Fontana, Ca. and will have track time at the racetrack there. The Boss cars group got permission to join them and get their own track time slot. Maybe we could do the same. Just something to think about.

I think that's an awesome idea. I'd love to get some track time.

Well here's my last call. I really wanted to put this on but haven't received any "definately be there" emails, so it looks like if anyone is planning on coming and just hasn't told me, you'll have to settle for a bar-b-que in my back yard instead of a T-shirt or dash plaque.

The whole idea sounds like a blast Steve. We would love to be there but its not going to be possible for us. Maybe farther into the future when we`ve settled a little closer to your neck of the woods. We`re thinking of Oregon. I`ve always wanted to live there and it seems like a great place to continue raising our daughters.

You know me, I may show up but I just can't guarantee anything, I'm in the middle of a huge process line installation project, my first time managing a project of this calliber and it's been stressing to say the least. Once it's in I'm going to have to baby sit it until it is up and running full steam ahead and KFC has increased our orders out the roof so we can't even sneeze or we will be in deep trouble. If I do make it up your way it will be more of a visit while RVing and regaining my sanity and I won't have the CS.
