Since I've got this extra photo of a proto-type CS thought I'd post it also. I'd like to see somthing along these lines myself. At least it's distinctive and leaves no doubt it's a GT/CS. Heck they even use the old Styled Steel wheel with the GT center caps.

those look like 22 inch styled steel wheels. seems kinda ghetto.

I do get the idea of the old with new from that photo.

Jason;
Only you would go there. But, I do have to agree with you. The rims could be a bit smaller. :grin:

3. Side Scoop: the side scoop should be wide enough in proportion to accept the striped GT/CS logo. No upper side scoop. This will allow greater "blind spot" visibility, as well as continue the "lower scoop only for the CS" for the convertible version (so it looks consistent).

I've seen a couple concept cars with side scoops and I think one could be done that looks right. I drew this one and it's not great but it shows the area could be done:

I`m just glad they`re making a new GT/CS. I am happy I have an ORIGINAL and everybody will be stopping me saying that the old ones look much nicer than the new ones.

I think Ronda's right, we all should be glad they are making a new CS and to be honest I doubt anyone will have any success in getting them to make changes that incur any cost to them. If you have been following the news you've no doubt read or heard that ford is closing 14 plants and laying off 30,000 employees.

The big 3 U.S. auto makers are hurting something bad. At this pace it won't be long and we will all be buying from the foreign auto makers. Over the years the employee negotiations including retirement etc have put the big 3 so far in debt not only on current wages but retirees continued benefits that the cost of the vehicles has reached such outrageous prices that they have priced themselves into a small corner of the market and it isn't good.

I used to buy a new car and truck every 2-3 years. And you didn't come out to bad on the deal 15-20 years ago. Buy a new car or truck now and the price is so inflated that the depreciation in that same 2-3 years puts you upside down in the vehicle bad if you make a simple 60 mos deal which is what most people have to do. I decided years ago that it made no money sense and my last 4-5 vehicles have been used and my intention is to keep them long term, this is the biggest reason I bought the little Festiva, a car to wear out so the newer vehicles will last that much longer. I excersize patience when looking for a vehicle until the vehicle I want with low mileage at the right price comes along. I recently bought an F250 Super Duty Crew Cab, Lariat, leather and loaded with under 27,000 miles on it for $24,000, the same truck brand new was at or over $50,000, less than half price I paid and it still had a new smell to it. That is some serious depreciation. But they have no choice but to inflate the price because they owe their work force, current and retired so much money it is the only way to make a profit.

I completely agree on the value of new cars. The last 3 Mercedes I have bought were 2 years old each. My 01 SL600 had a sticker price of $133,000. I got it with 2600 miles on it (yes 2600) when it was exactly 2 years old and I got it for $68,000. Think that the original owner had it 2 years and lost roughly $55k and only drove it 2600 miles. My current 03 CL600 was $136,000 new and I got it when it was 2 years old with 27k miles and pay $79,000 for it. All of them have 4 year bumper to bumper warranties so I am covered for 2 years from when I bought it.

I get cars too often to buy a new car. If I were the type to keep a car for 10-15 years then maybe I would buy one brand new. Now the family Expedition we bought new and will drive the wheels off that one since it is disposible anyway.

The car companies sales are down recently from pretty high volumes and they are just adjusting by laying off workers. This has happened many times in the past and is just a cycle.

Hey Cory, I just bought a "real" truck myself. My Mazda wasn't handling the chore of hauling my raft or cars around so I bought a 2001 F250 Lariet Ext. cab diesel with 74K miles for $16K. It was a $50K truck when new also.
