1968 Blethering Place Collector Car Show in Victoria

Well, my brother Harry and I attended the "Blethering Place Collector Car Show" in Oak Bay (Victoria) today and it was blistering hot! There were a nice variety of cars shown, with about 300 + participants and an estimated 10,000 spectators over the entire day. When we were directed to park this morning at least they put me in good company!

By the way, we got the new Ford Motorsport plug wires installed this week and they definitely look way better than the old dirty yellow ones! Nice matching blue aluminum looms for them too.

Impressive that a California Special can't be outclassed even if there is a matching picnic set!!

Your engine bay is perfect. Always wanted to get mine back to original but yours is gorgeous!

Actually, these photos flatter our "boiler room" and make it look much better than it really is. It looks pretty good from 5 feet, but up close you'd see a few flaws. I must admit though that the new set of Ford Motorsport blue wires look 100% better than the old yellow ones. The new Ford blue aluminum looms for the wires clean things up a bit too.
Next year we'll likely have to pull the motor to install a new set of headers that will clear the PS so that we can take the standard steering out (again ...), and then maybe we can clean things up in there a bit better. Having said that though, it doesn't look too bad if you don't get out a magnifying glass, and we got a lot of complements on the whole car throughout the day. I could point out every scratch and flake of rust, but new viewers look past all that and see the "big picture" ... (thank goodness!).
I managed to meet and speak to the gent at this show that owns the other "S" code GT/CS that is in Victoria. He said it is under restoration for him by another local gent and it will likely take about 2 more years to finish the work. It was originally Highland Green. I'm going to try to get together with him and compare notes ...

Yeah, that "Roller" is quite a machine, and it was very, very clean and well kept. It has been around Victoria for quite a few years. We have a "Rolls Royce / Bentley club" here in Victoria and they have quite a few members.
Although they weren't a big presence at the show this year, there are several Sunbeam Tigers (the "poor man's Cobra") on Vancouver Island too. I believe that last year there were at least 4 at this show?
