1968 Blurb Book Contest should I enter our book?

I got an invite to enter our book into a contest on Blurb. It looks like you enter and then you have friends/family vote on your book and the winners based on public voting make it to the finals and then the Blurb cast will determine the winner.

Should I enter? If I do I will need all your help and everyone you know to go vote on the book so it will make it through the public voting and into the finals. Do we have a large enough group that knows enough friends you can convince to give it a vote?

Sounds like there are three categories, Family, Travel and Pets.

I was thinking Family? The book is based on the Family of CS owners and it's called "A California Special Way of Life" which is family oriented.

Thinking in terms of books that other would write related to Family, weddings, reunions, etc would be be competative.

Thinking in terms of Travel, books around world travel photography, national park photography etc I would think competeing in this arena would be much more difficult. The worlds beauty is very large.

Pets...well even though I consider my car a pet and it minds good for the most part I'm afraid they just wouldn't see it the way I do.

Ok, I will get it entered this weekend and then I'm counting on you guys to go out and round us up as many votes as we can muster up from the depths of the deepest internet corners. As soon as I have a direct link to vote for our book I will post it here and see if Jon will sticky it or we can just keep it at the top and keep bumping it so everyone votes.

Blurb Book Voting

Ok I entered our book, I entered the large format book and I had to buy another one in order to enter which is Ok as I plan to give my dad a book when I go to CA.

The voting doesn't start until October 23 so I will remind everyone and then count on everyone dinging everyone you know to go vote so we can win the contest.

Not getting my hopes up all that high but hey it's worth a shot, it is a great book.

Sweet! The voting I believe starts around the end of October. Having entered the book in the contest it is now available for preview cover to cover on the blurb web site. They pulled it up today during a meeting I was presenting just to take a look and it looked like the whole book was previewable.

Trust me I will and I will need all the votes I can get, be awesome to win!! Not only for the financial rewards but just simply for how cool it would be. Heck I'm already feeling famous, you should see peoples faces around here when I tell them I'm headed to CA for a book signing. They can't believe it, my sister about fell over when I showed her the book and she saw that I was the author, you guys and ladies are just awesome, I'm having a blast with this whole thing and I'm dead serious when I say this isn't me, writing books and book signings, I'm way more laid back than that but it sure is fun.
