I am trying to help someone with a 1968 GT/CS determine the proper color carpet. The exterior color is Highland Green, and the trim (Trim Code 2Y) is Nugget Gold. The dash pad is either black or the dark brown, they haven't replied back as to the correct color. I have not seen the car by all conversation has been by email.

Carpet should be brown or gold. Brown is more common.

Keith,
Is this information for either Gail or Fran? If so, that's my old car.

The Ford Parts Manual list the dash number for carpet with Trim 2Y as -A1Y. Would this have been a gold carpet? I cannot find any information that ties the carpet dash numbers to the actual color. There are examples of trim numbers for the seats and headliners, but no carpet.

All I know is that I received my information from an MCA Gold judge, so I’m going with it. He says brown or gold were both used.

That is the same thing Marty Rupp told me, but I am also a MCA Gold Card judge for 67-68, and we do not have any information as to the carpet color. I told Gail to go with either Gold or Brown and use which color looks best. No points will be deducted, the car gets the benefit of the judges not knowing the correct color.
