 I just thought it would be fun to see who thought it was real and who did`nt. IMO, it was questionable.

Ya done good Rhonda,

IMO You/we, through our comments made Ron realize he could get more $$ out of his Mustang if he posted a Marti on e-bay.

You hit the nail on the head.

We as Ford owners, at least those built after 1967, are very lucky that such documents exist. They help to prove the pedigree when a car is listed for sale. Chevy or Dodge owners can't get anything like a Kevin Marti report for their cars.

The Marti reports also keep sellers honest when they claim factory components, options, and colors. It can also prove that a car did or did not come from certain areas of the country. Dry climates or rustbelt climates.

I just googled "marti" on ebay and there are 58 vehicles for sale with "Marti" in the listing.

Small correction. Marti reports can be gotten for 67's as well. It is the 65-66 people who are out of luck.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen, thank you for your comments and the warm welcome, we are really looking forward to learning more from you and this site. We knew what we had and yes we should have posted the Marti rept at the beginning to keep any questions at bay. However the info we listed "may be CS or HCS" was off a VIN search website, boy did we learn not to do that again. Marti rept is the way to go. Thanks again everyone, have a nice night!

Morr-- (Mr?, etc.???)

Anyway, since we've got you past the breakwater of this internet experience, I'd like to point out that the previous postings and threads here include a wealth of information for this GT/CS' restoration.

Just like any other brand or marque of vehicle, you've hit on the passions of this niche. Please feel free to ask away at the slightest question and/or problem you may encounter. You'll probably need a pair of fog lights, and grille, etc...which we can help you with.

It's our hope that we make a grand overall impression with "our" California Special at the Barrett-Jackson auction. This is a well-documented Mustang with a rich heritage and history--tied closer to Shelby-Automotive than you may think. By the way, the "EXP-500 Green Hornet", owned by Craig Jackson was found, and researched by myself; and appeared in an article by myself in an issue of the (SAAC) Shelby American. It began as a GT/CS pilot production Mustang.

Thanks, I am well aware that they are available starting for the 1967 model year.

Bad choice of words on my part.

All,
I so agree with Ron!!! We all want to ensure that we preserve the heritage of the GT/CS cars. The Marti report is a valuable tool, but not tied to what a dealer may have done. In my years I have watched informed owners attack people displaying or selling cars. Telling them that their car is incorrect or a fake. Sometimes the owners are original owners. Many anomalies occurred.

Kudo’s to the knowledge that this site supplied. We (you) are the keeper of the knowledge. The holes in the rear quarters intrigued me on the first post of this car. They looked just like the ones on my car for the scoops. Rough and in a location that looked correct. Always start your comments with “to the best of my knowledge” or to the best info I have acquired”. That way we all are helpful and leave room for the unknown.

I am so glad we helped this owner out. My hope is we did not offend him. Just when we think we know it all, another twist comes our way.

Rob
