1968 Decal locations

Need Help on Decals
I think I got most of the figured out. the 289 air cleaner doesn't get a "FRONT" decal but the others I need some help with please see the attached picture. is there a reference guide anyplace that shows the correct locations and usage of these decals?
A- Assume this goes on the Coil. Does it go lengthwise? or is it wrapped around the Dia?
B- Assume a 289 does not use this decal is that correct have not seen it on any pictures
C- Not sure where this goes any pictures of where it goes is it even used on a 68 GT/CS with 289
D- Assume this goes on the door not sure where
E- Assume this goes behind the rear license plate but is it even put on? do folks actually put it on their cars
F- where on the Jack does this go?
G- Assume this goes on the voltage regulator. but mine is already painted blue with this yellow painted on. does it go someplace else?

Coils didn't use a decal/sticker they were ink stamped. Suggest that you find someone that stamps them or locate the clamp to cover the area on the coil since many were not visible when installed. BTW the date code on the sticker is for a 1971 car

Not used originally on your application. Yours should have a filter replacement decal on the base of the air cleaner at about 5 o'clock position

C- Not sure where this goes any pictures of where it goes is it even used on a 68 GT/CS with 289

Wasn't used on your car. Just something they put into kits for some reason. While we're at this. Was there a Caution Fan decal in the kit also? Ifso you can put that on your tool box, kids wagon, trash can unless you feel you need it on your car to keep you from placing things in the fan while its running

Only if they are restoring their car

One of the long exterior facing arms of the jack that attach to the base of the jack.

Nope - like the coil these where originally stamped on the part.



BTW there are likely another half dozen decals that were original to your car that are not listed or shown in your thread and will not be included in a "kit" and some not provided by that decal maker. Might want to check out some of ECS decals - often listed as Concours decals in some catalogs

question what is the decal on the front of the drivers side valve cover. I see it on 2 of the pictures. I have the 1 behind the oil breather cap

That is the engine ID decal. It was a quick method for workers on the line to identify quickly from a distance what engine it was. This match the same coding in the upper left hand corner of the cars buildsheet - which for most of the build process (last half) a copy was attached to the front and the rear of the cars body for reference

NPD shows 2 different engine id tags for a 289. both have K236J but also some other differences which one is correct one for San jose cars
