About a month or so ago, Bob Teets joined me at our local drag strip. Two 1968 HCS's going up against one another. Bob brought his 428CJ and I had my modified J code. Here are a few pictures (pulled from a video of the race).

Awesome! E.T.'s and MPH's please. How many races did you guys run against each other? This track was in Colorado? what is the elevation there? im sure it slowed you guys down quite a bit. Maybe you can post some pictures of your time slips?

It took me a month to figure out how to get the video on my computer and then to take pictures from the video. No idea how to load a video and I am too old to try and put something on youtube:embarass:

We had two head to head races. With regards to Bob's car, let me make a couple comments:

The car is unbelievable. Bob drives it several miles to the track, leaves it running during tech inspection and then right to the staging lanes. I have to remind him to shut it off and let the engine cool That car does not ever run hot. I think you could drive this car all day long without any problems.

Bob said he had it performance tuned....in 1992. He is also driving/racing with Goodyear polyglas repos and replaced his 3.91 gears with 3.25's.

From what I could find, Motor Trend, back in the day, had the 1968.5 428CJ Mustang running around 14.0 in the quarter mile (3.91 gears). Bandimere Speedway is at 5800 feet above sea level. To compare with sea level, take about 1 second off our times. There are more precise ways to calculate, but that is the easiest.

Temp was probably low 50's.

Bob's best time was 15.713 at 90.86mph. Sixty foot time was 2.464

My best time in our races was 14.20 at 97.40mph. My best time during the night was 13.905 at 97.81 with a 1.959 sixty foot time.

It was a good time and Bob is a great guy. Plus he is a wealth of knowledge.

What was the event? Was it all-Ford weekend or something similar?
