The door ajar light is activated by a switch in each door latch assembly. A VERY rare & hard to find part. The fuel sender has a separate sensor for the low fuel warning. Impossible to find, but years ago I read of a mod that could be made to the original sender unit (that has to be maintained due it having a different connector than standard senders). I had this option on a '68 coupe- ANOTHER one I should never have sold :-(
The E-Bay ad says all gages & lights work. From that I could assume the Convenience lights do also- but I'd sure ask specificly if they do. For someone to install the complete Convenience system + Factory A/C (the heater water control valve is incorrect), they went through a lot of work & expense.
I don't have any particular heartburn with a color change- as long as it is correct for the year/model, and in doing so it just makes good sense to have the door tag match the current configuration. I know 'purists' object to any change from how the car was born, but that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream ;-)

FYI: Last week I sent the seller a question asking if the Convenience lights are functional. No response as yet.

As was mentioned the convenience option found its way onto 1.5% of all 1968 Mustangs, however it did find its way onto 100% of all Mercury Cougar XR7's  .

The door ajar switch can be found on 1967-68 Cougar XR7's. The door latch is shared between Cougars and Mustangs year for year. The latches even have the attaching hole for the door ajar switch. It would be helpfull for anyone looking to add the convenience group option to also get the door wiring harness from the Cougar XR7, it will also have the wiring plug for the door courtesy light (I presume that the light is in approximately the same position on both cars).

Low fuel sending units can also be found on the Cougars too. Mustang and Cougar share the same fuel tank year for year. Bad news is that the thermister portion of the sending units go bad (as was mentioned above:wink:)

The seat belt reminder is nothing more than a light that is illuminated for 5-10 seconds at engine start up.

Response from seller today: the Convenience lights in the car are NOT hooked up.

Has anyone looked at this car? It's listed in the old registry. Anyone of our members bidding? If so, I won't.
It's had a lot of add-ons: SS wheels, console, A/C, Convenience lights (but not connected).

Neil,
I know of at least one person from this site who is bidding on it, and possibly two.

seller ended listing , i too emailed him about car first round and this time , something seemed shady to me, either that or he had a car for sale and knew nothing about it . at first i was going to bid then had decided not to, if he had both sets of wheels and decided to picture the car for sale with that set i think it is pretty clear

I think his 'No Reserve' ad was not progressing high enough for him. His ad a few weeks ago was looking to get $25K. Yesterday the bidding was in the mid $15K range, so rather than sell for less he pulled the ad. JMHO.

Sooooo, I've never sold anything on Ebay, have bought a few things. My question, on a no reserve auction, when is the seller unable to pull his item for sale, or can he right up to the last minute? I tend not to bid until the last hour or so on purchases......

Doc, I thought you may have bought it! Jon (webmaster) very kindly offered to check the car for me and when he rang to arrange it he was told it had been sold. I had placed an early bid just so I got a reminder and it was cancelled by the seller. I didn't see anywhere in the ebay listing that it was for sale and may be withdrawn.
