Hey Gary I think inspection via pictures would be hard for the forum help you on. We usually like to point out if everything anything looks suspicions or if something looks off or ways someone cut corners.
So our previous recommendation would be to inspect this car (possible with someone who knows CalSpec) top to bottom personally and ask the seller for "Marti" Report (can get immediate to 1-2 days) that will tell you specific details including that this is an actual California Special.
You can also do a search on previous threads on this Forum on what to look for..everyone has their specific places. I have learned quite a bit (as have others) by taking notes and followup question to individual people on the forum.
Couple points...
Check if you have numbers matching car (engine stamp, fender stamp, VIN). On the ledge of the back of the block on the left hand side, just behind the intake manifold. Tranny back of the main case just forward of where the tailhousing bolts on.
Cowls near the engine compartment (hood vents) water test to see if there is rust issues. If water comes on the ground good, if inside interior inspect closer or run. Or other parts for the car like rear quarter panels where problems can arise. Behind the tire and lower corners of doors look for rust bubbles or replacement work. Minor is little work bigger you have more issues.
Under the car to ensure the floor pans are solid. Any rivets or patch work. Suspension and brakes (these are disc) drivetrain to make sure all is smooth.
This looks like a great worn CalSpecial daily driver that someone emptied about 10 bottles of Armor All on. 289 C code (no VIN or info from ad)? It has AC and power brakes which is good. Being dealer owner he knows Calspeci have value but probably doesnt know the history of the car intimately as a private seller.
Good luck...
