1968 Frame Damage

I've seen damage similar to this fairly often on Mustangs and I've always wondered how people damage the rail in that manner? It looks like someone hit a huge rock going 30mph in reverse.

I live in snow country and you get the car buried in the ditch and hook a log chain on and jerk it out with a four wheel drive truck it can do that kind of damage. The HCS that I am working on was worse than that. It took a whole afternoon to straiten them out.
