The blue car in North Carolina sold for nearly $20,000.

Does it look to the rest of you like $20K seems to be the new baseline for nice-but-not-perfect California Specials? Not bad since we were saying it was $15K a year ago. That's a 33% increase in one year!

Arlie: I think you're right. It seems to me that the tide turned a bit after the BJ auctioned that CS for 49K. I'm also pleased that there appears to be more market demand for our cars.

I paid $20k , but it was packing some heat and is in excellent condition but Not original.

it will be interesting to see how much the Candy Apple one out of Madison WI:icon_ecst sells for.

I agree that 20K seems to be the new benchmark. The other factor is the GT/CS rareity and age factors coming in to play.

Yeah, I don't know if it's really better to buy a car that is restored and in perfect condition and pay a lot for it. Or, Buy a car that is in restorable condition and restore it yourself, and depending on what it needs, you might have to spend a lot on just the parts to restore it - and they are hard to find sometimes - and you have to do a lot of research and take a lot of time to restore one. But, I think that the reward in the hard work that you have done restoring it yourself..

By the time I'm done with mine and adding the 428CJ I may never get what I have in the car if I do ever sell it. I do know one thing though - I'm sure as hell gonna enjoy driving it. :icon_ecst

got AC in that thing? (You could always have the VS models spray you down with a water bottle).

We got the AC working in my CJ today. Will be nice to cruise around in comfort in the 95 degree heat and 80% humidity around here.

Yep, restoring one yourself is pretty rewarding but yes indeed, very expensive.

Yeah, It can get very expensive. Depending what has to be done to it.. My friend spent, I believe about $600, but, He did put in a new exhaust system.. I don't know how much He spent on the other one. But, He did have to get it repainted and re-striped.. It looks really good now..
