1968 Hood Inserts

Does anyone know about chrome hood inserts? I recieved a pair with my 68 but have never seen chrome ones on a car. How rare are they or did someone chrome them? I will be selling them if anyone is intrested here. Any guesses on worth? Thanks.

Never seen anything about chrome hood inserts from the factory in my experience. I have seen some that were plated by the owner to jazz up the car. In their mind anyway....

I have learned to never say never, but my gut is they were just plated.

Someone (read PO - previous owner) chromed them. It wasn't an original option. Kind of like doing the headlight rings or on non- Calif Specials the rear fender extensions. Saw one owner once that chromed their front valance :tongue:
