...Come see us July 7th at "Thunder in the Sky" in Auburn, CA (where Mustangs meet Mustangs!) We're a half-hour north of Sacramento on the way to Reno along interstate 80.

I'll be doing the MC'ing and my son, TJ will be in for the thrill of his life as a back-seater during the Patriot's Jet Team demo :)

And, of course, the Foster/Stevenson Special will be on display :cheesy:

Thank you Tim for all the hard work, long nights, and endless time you have put into helping to put on this show. And thanks for always being there to talk when I needed it, even when you were up to your eyebrows in work.

Tim & Renee',
You know I would be there if I could. I know I do not need to tell Tim to take lots of pictures. Marty

...SO amazing, this Air Fair! Rare Mustangs on the ground, rarer Mustangs in the air, thousands of happy people, non-stop noise, drama and thrills, TJ flying like the Thunderbirds and a first!.... > A person able to be heard screaming for joy over the sound of a 450 HP open-stacked engine from the Stearman she was flying in a hundred yards away! (Renee of course;-) Crazy fun weekend!!

Tim (and anyone else who is reading this),

I don't know were to start to describe how wonderful this airshow was!! There were so many gorgeous planes, the classic cars were beautiful, and the whole day was amazing!!! :cheesy:

I had the opportunity to meet and talk to Colonel "Bud" Anderson on Friday. What an amazing man, and so many wonderful stories to tell!!!

Tim and Juan Browne did a fantastic job anouncing the show and wandering around with their wireless microphones to all the different booths and airplanes to talk to the actual people involved. Fantastic!!!

Thank you Tim for introduing me to your Reno photographer friend Naomi :cheesy: We had a wonderful time talking about so many things, and forming a wonderful bond ;-))

The most wonderful part of the day for me was to actually go up in a BEAUTIFUL vintage Stearman bi-plane!! :icon_ecst 30 minutes of pure heaven flying through the Bear River Canyon!!

I did not take enough pictures because I was so busy enjoying the day. The weather was a bit warm, but the breeze made it bearable...

Here are a few of the pictures that I took. The red bi-plane was the one I went up in :) Notice the one of Tim "on duty" and the second one of after the show was over! He REALLY needed a beer!! (couldn't resist posting the last pic Tim :))

...Fantastic photos and fun that comes with the territory, Renee. How I wish more of our "Special" friends could experience what you did.

This was Renee's first-ever non-commercial airplane ride! Stearman owner, Don Guinn had her wait until days end so he could give her "the E Ticket" with wing-over stalls and roaring through river canyons for an extended time! The entire airport being not only impressed by her GT/CS, but also her joyful demeanor and finesse!

WWII Triple Ace (and current flight instructor at age 90) Bud Anderson was also moved by her warm appreciation. Proof that Special Mustangs in the hands of likewise people bring unimaginable results! Such was the real magic of the day :)

...Share away, Scott! :) Cars & planes together always make for some of the best photos (and were really my inspiration for having Mustangs in the first place!)

By the way, my kids & I flew in that same Tri-Motor (Bushmaster) back in 1999!

Great picture!

I want to point out that those were Ford engines on that plane. Known as a Ford Tri-Motor.

Sad story about that plane (it was a replica by the way). Shortly after that picture was taken, that plane crashed on takeoff, onto one of the local streets in Fullerton, Ca. Both pilots were injured, but recovered. My friend Daniel, was originally supposed to co-fly in it that day. Another guy bumped him and Daniel fortunately elected to stay on the ground that morning, rather than ride in the back. No passengers on board.

Indeed Scott, but what's really sad was the acccident wouldn't have happened had they performed a proper pre-flight inspection before its test hop. The rudder locking device (applied when parked) was not removed prior to takeoff, thus no real steering at speed. It began to veer off the runway before getting airborne...

Yup, that is basically what happened.
