Those lights are pretty rough. They will require a complete rechrome. I think $300 is a fair price but not a bargain. Janne knows the value of Lucas and Marchal lights and won't give anything away.
That's actually an excellent price for those lights for their condition. They don't pop-up on ebay that often and I've seen set's in much worse condition sell for over $1,000.00 a pair. Take a set like that and send to Orlando Mustang along with $299.00 and you've got a completely reconditioned set of lights. I paid $850.00 last year for a set of NOS Marchal driving lights from Pete at Orlando. After seeing some of the other ones listed on ebay and other areas I figured that was a great price.
I purchased a set of Marchal lights from Janne7 about 6 months ago, they were listed as 653s, but I figured close enough. With this thread, I decided to check, and they are 1968 dated inside the housing, and they are 656s, SOOOOOOOOOOO, Unless he will open the lights and tell you what the inking inside the housing is, You never know what you will get. I lucked out. Thanks for making me check guys. Mike
