1968 My new project

I picked up this gem today in Escondido, Ca. When I saw it posted online, I thought it would be a cool project to do with my kids (2 and 4 yr olds). I plan on addressing the rust, then tuck it away to fill the piggy bank for paint in a couple years. This is a single owner car and comes with all the original parts and drive train. It was also featured in the “Mustang does it!” Book by Ray Miller, so I feel the pressure to take my time and do it right. If you have any recommendations on how to approach the body and rust, I’m all ears.

Member "Wallace" was talking about cutting the roof off his car and making a convertible. https://californiaspecial.com/forums/threads/why-not-convert-my-gt-cs-to-convertible.14292/ Maybe you guys could get together and salvage the top for your car, or contact the people he was going to use and see if they have a good roof skin you could get.

I connected with someone that said they’ll can sandblast the interior, cut out the rust and fabricate the pieces. He said he’ll give it the old college try. I’m going to take the car to him (Bakersfield) next month, once he frees up a spot at his shop. I’ll keep you all posted.
