I have not gotten any reponses under the "Wiring Diagram" thread.

Please, please, please can someone tell me the color of the wires that connect to the oil pressure gauge? I think they are black with white strip and White with red stripe.

Also, does this type of gauge move around alot or stay pretty steady if pressure is good.

I have not been able to locate a good wiring diagram. I am trying to finish installing my inst cluster and don't want to connect the wrong wires to the wrong posts.

The last of my Labor Day projects!

thanks
David

Hi, did you try this site; http://www.themustangshop.com/index.cfm?pg=/resources.cfm

Looking at it (too bad there is a splice in the scan right at the oil gauge area) it looks like the 2 wires are ; 1 is either white-blue or black-white (is it possible there are 2 wires coming out at that pin since this is the case in 1967 w/D ? ) and one is for sure is white-red

Mine has a white with red stripe from the sending unit (the unit is self grounding). Coming off of the back of the temp guage (facing the back of the guage) white/red on the left and black/white on the right. I have a schematic set for 68 Mustangs from Pro Products - it is old but you might try a google search for them.

Good luck - I don't envy under the dash work....

Looking in my 68 Shop Manual, the schematic of the intrument cluster shows the wire color; The oil temp gauge has 2 wires, #31 being white with red stripe, wire #60 being black with white stripe

Here is a site where you can get the information you need but I think you have to pay.
http://www.alldatadiy.com/

or you could try http://www.10w40.com/

Yeah, Rhonda you at least have to pay for the All Data site. They don't cover '68s. At my school we have alldata and Mitchell - Right now, we are learning to read wiring diagrams. My Electronics teacher told me that the wiring diagrams for the older vehicles are really tough to read..

Thanks Marie, I guess I thought it covered all years of cars.

You`re welcome David, sorry you did`nt get help before, but everybody was probably waiting for the experts here on the site to step up.

I almost feel bad that I was playing with my grandson all weekend. I'll try to do better next time. Glad you got what you needed.

I know I am late on this one but mine is white with red stripe as well. I replaced all harnesses under the hood. Started out with everything new to hope it would cut down on any fire hazard.
