You know, as I studied the picture of the Classic design concepts spoiler and thought about the taillight dimension, it occurred to me that quite possibly a fabricated new trunk lid that incorporates the taillights and the panel would be in order. This way, the panel can more easily work with a narrower taillight and the spoiler would be integrated into the decklid like our original 68.

I had to work OT today and was bored to tears so I spent some time thinking about this-seriously. Get your photoshop warmed up Paul, I have a great idea. If Ford wants to give me one of the first 50 cars for my small part, I'd accept. Since the idea seems to be to do a convert. with a removeable hardtop, put in a roll bar (ala Shelby convert.) with a "CS" emblem on the side. Make the hardtop two piece, with the front of the back half mounting to the rear of the "rollbar" and the front half going from the front of the "rollbar" to the windshield. Two smaller, lighter pieces would be easier to remove, store, install, etc. Give it the prototype twin scoop hood, supercharge the 4.6, have the side scoops cooling the rear disk brakes and have the front and rear as per your earlier posts. Make these options only available on the CS. I get light-headed just thinking about it.

If I'm looking at Paul's enhanced taillight picture correctly it seems to have the stock deck lid. The lights should look more in scale if we saw the back end, from further away, with the taillights and the spoiler as a complete package. The added height of the spoiler should "pull the taillights down".

If you want another look at that "ducktail" spoiler, get a look at:

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/21918

To me, it looks like a shadow of the original. It might be "short" so people can still look out the back window--like a safety thing--because the back end is SO HIGH. How does it appear to you? This company still has to release it to the public. "Not Yet".

I agree with the spoiler/taillight proportion thing. Good point.

An overhang onto the top portion of those big taillights with an overlapping spoiler is a good idea, too.

I can see how you like the "cats eyes" look with those original '65 T-Bird lights. Shelby sure got it right when he and his creative staff did those lights. They are SO distinctive!

If anyone remembers how the taillights go all the way across on a '66 T-Bird, with the chrome trim, I've considered that, too as an idea. I photoshopped some '67 Rally wheels on this '05, and it looked awful!!--so we need to be careful. With some of this new Mustang stuff, "ya just can't go home again...."

Thanks for all your input!!

Add something different to the interior this time (since it was cut for cost in 68)? such as a cs plate, or other ideas? Casey

This is just a thought!! Forget the 4.6 even with a supercharger. If I'm not mistaken I remember reading somewhere that Ford will be offering a 5 liter cammer crate motor very shortly if not already out there. Heck throw a supercharger on that and let her rip. I'm sure it will supprise a few folks.

How about the 05 GT at the Daytona Grand AM Cup 200. Finished 1 and 2. Not bad for her first time out on the track right off the truck. Two other 05 GT's finished 9th and 11th. Not bad for their first Grand AM Cup Race. That should make a few other teams stand up and take notice.

Maybe I'm just used to the vintage CS, the curve of the rear of the car in the link is opposite of the the 68' version. It just looks a little odd curving towards the front of the car at the sides. I think the quarter panel extensions would need to be larger to lessen the "reverse" curve. Just my opinion.
